Always a good stop, only recommendation would be more customization options for the app I.E. extra chicken for quesadilla and options for PLAIN white rice. That has 0 reflection on this location however.

Update - 03/07/2025

Against my better judgment, I decided to give the Henry Street Chipotle another shot, hoping my last experience was just an off day. Unfortunately, it was somehow even worse.

This time, I ordered a steak burrito with the usual toppings—rice, beans, salsa, and cheese. The steak was still tough and flavorless, but now the rice was also clumped together and oddly cold, as if it had been sitting out too long. My dining partner went with a chicken bowl, which turned out to be just as bad as before—overcooked, dry, and lacking any real seasoning. The guacamole, which was the only saving grace last time, had a weird, almost sour aftertaste.

To make matters worse, the portion sizes seemed smaller, yet the price had somehow gone up. After two meals and drinks, the total was a staggering $60—way too much for what amounts to mediocre fast food.

At this point, I can confidently say I won’t be back. The inconsistency, declining quality, and outrageous prices make it impossible to justify another visit. There are far better options in town for much less money.

Original Review:
Walking into Chipotle on Henry Street in Muskegon, the setup is familiar—modern, minimalistic, and focused on the build-your-own concept. Unfortunately, what starts with promise quickly falls apart due to disappointing food quality and steep prices.

I tried the chicken burrito bowl with cilantro-lime rice, pinto beans, fajita veggies, pico de gallo, corn salsa, sour cream, and cheese. While the toppings were fresh, the chicken was noticeably overcooked and chewy, lacking the flavor you’d expect. The rice, meant to balance the bowl, was under-seasoned and uninspiring. The barbacoa burrito I ordered was no better. Although the barbacoa had decent seasoning, it was dry and overcooked, with guacamole the only redeeming factor.

The steak tacos, served on soft flour tortillas with lettuce, hot salsa, and queso blanco, were the most disappointing. The steak was tough, overdone, and flavorless, and even the queso tasted clumpy and far from fresh. Across all dishes, the proteins suffered the most, overshadowing otherwise solid ingredients like salsas and toppings.

At $22 per person, the experience feels overpriced for food that struggles to meet basic expectations. Chipotle’s potential is undeniable, but inconsistency and poorly prepared meats turn what should be a satisfying meal into a frustrating one. Until this location improves, there are better options for fresher, better-prepared food at a much more reasonable price.

Kid-friendliness: Not recommended for kids of any age.

Everyone is always very enthusiastic about the food here, and now it's easy to see why!

As a new guest, I asked the server for tips, but he didn't do anything beyond asking "brown rice or white rice," The lady who sells me different lottery tickets has more acumen. If you want to really enjoy the food, you should watch food hacking videos and try them out (tortillas on the side were great).

The atmosphere is honestly pretty bland, I could feel the melanin leaving what was left of my tan. Other than the standard accutrments of genre Mexican food (bottled coke, various hot sauces available at the dispenser), Chipotle really is just another gray box fast food place. As for the seating, the floorspace is fairly limited, and we were forced to rub shoulders with several different people while sitting next to an (albeit well cleaned and odorless) trash can. I might recommend the to-go option.

Vegetarian options: Several kinds of rice, beans, and vegetarian meat with many condiments.

Parking: Awkward seating arrangements

Kid-friendliness: Spicy food, large portions, requires decision making.

Wheelchair accessibility: Good to great

Horrible staff and food. Felt way overcharged. The young lady taking our order was rude and mad she had to answer questions. Charged for everything on our burritos which seems outrageous.

When I order a steak bowl please put more than 3 pieces of steak in it. Also paying extra for more protein is a scam since there’s never any extra protein thrown in.

Employees have refused to wash their hands and refused to change their gloves. On two separate occasions, with two different employees! Both times were in the late evening. The employees had the salsa bins removed and were using sponges to clean below the counter. When I walked up to the counter, the employees stopped cleaning, set the sponge on the counter, and without washing hands or changing gloves asked what they could get me. I asked them if they could clean up first and both times, the employees became indignant. One of them outright refused and kept repeating "what can I get you." The other eventually washed hands and put on new gloves, but only after I insisted. Imagine if I hadn't witnessed them cleaning and assumed their hands were clean. This is such an egregious lack of care and compassion to the customers that dine here. Please hire employees that aren't so ignorant and gross. Train your employees to respect your guests. DO BETTER! Never eating here again.

Manager with no ability to take decisions!

Came to this restauran on Wednesday 9/25 7:00pm and they didn’t have cups for water. I asked the manager for a regular cup to take water and he declined to do it.

This decision reflects the poor ability of the manager and store to handle situations like this.

All I wanted was a cup for water, but the girl at the register told me they were out of water cups so I asked kindly if I could have a small cup and they could watch me fill it with water. She told me that’s not allowed and that I would have to pay for a cup and fill it with water Or she could get in trouble. I have no issue with the girl that was doing her job, but shame on chipotle for imposing these kind of restrictions on their employees. Seriously, chipotle ease up.
