Love this place for comfort food. Went there today, Tuesday, 4/9/24 and they're supposed to be open. THEY WERE NOT!! If I should decide to visit again, I'll definitely call ahead to avoid traveling for nothing!!

I made a visit Saturday afternoon, I was the only one in there, walk in and two employees was arguing with each other. Never stop too acknowledge me, two people came from the back still couldn't get them two stop, when the server finally ready to serve me...she had the nerves to say, can I help who's next, remind you I am thee only one standing there! She was terrible, nobody never apologized for the attitudes and service. The cashier attitude was much better when I got to her. Not visit no time soon, find another soul food spot.

I used to love this restaurant. But yesterday I went in normal happy to get my food and I received the rudest server ever imaginable. I like to support my black owned businesses so I drove there, a 45 minute drive only for the older lady with the dread locks to be rude,disrespectful and mess up my order. Once the lady at the register noticed that I was missing some items, she blamed me and continued to make smart remarks and rolling her eyes. "what she want a third macaroni". When she never packed the first two. I'm not a nasty person nor like to disrespect an elder but maybe she shouldn't interact with customers. I don't want put the restaurant down, because I know she probably employed only due to be related to the owners. I believe in hiring family, but everyone is not appropriate for customer service.

I have always loved motor city and try to support black owned businesses but this is why i do not terrible service the older woman that works there has a disgusting attitude i listened to her talk about customers as they left she has a very unwelcoming attitude wont be in business long with these type of

Food was good but the service was unorganized. The line was confusing don't know where to order the food and walk a lot to pay and pickup your order at the window. One person don't know if we ordered our food or to pickup so they cut in front of us like we're back in school or something. A 3 star review just for the food. By the way the greens is dry with no seasoning. Talking about #2 in the nation by DL Hughley radio show seems like a joke instead of a review. Fix the line by putting arrows to tell customers where to go like other places to get organized. It might be my one and only visit. Do better if you want to attract more people to your business!
Overall good: yes I had to add pepper to my Mac and cheese to make it palatable. Yes they were out of bbq chicken, and tried to sub fried chicken for me with “bbq sauce.” Yes the Greens were delicious! Something VERY hard to find. Candied yams were also good. I also enjoyed a cornbread. Service was okay. Being a 100% carry out location. The carryout containers must improve! Nobody wants greens juice in there candie yams. The dinners are pricey, but you won’t be hungry after. Good soul food is impossible to find. I just lost my mom who was a great cook. I’ve been seeking comfort food that fills that lost.. This place so far has the closest. I live 30 mins away in Romulus. I may return…

Bought 2 meatloaf dinners 1 hammock spent $53. The food was horrible meatloaf was half done string beans u can tell was pored straight out the can and heated nor flavor. Mashed potatoes was so watered down u can tell they were boxed mashed potatoes no taste at all Mac and cheese they just threw that together. It's a shame how this place has falling off since they started making money. And the 1 star was for the hammock it tasted ok

Man it’s like the only thing they used to season the food was salt. It was not good at all! Nothing like it used to be back in 2013…. Greens no flavor, meatloaf tasted like it was marinated in salt.Maybe it was an off night. Will give them a try again and update review if it’s better.
