Rocco’s Pizza Oak Park

I eat a lot of pizza. I eat a lot of pizza from everywhere any where. Ive tried every pizza in Detroit, and have had a lot of pizza in the burbs. Living in the city for a decade, for rounds, Supinos was always my default option. They make an excellent pie. Some come close, but lack that quality and attention to detail. I moved out of the city to F-Dale... drove by this spot and gave it shot... Yall, this pizza absolutely slaps. Ive showed every friend in the city this spot including restaurant owners, food critics, and industry people and they all unanimously agree, Roccos is a juggernaut of a pizza. We're lucky to have access to round pizza of this calibre. Im going to come clean and go as far as saying, Roccos is the best round in both Detroit and the burbs. Im really not exaggerating. You guys have to try this out. Get a Large round pepperoni or large cheese, youll be pleasantly surprised to have found your new favorite pizza.

Hands down the best NY style thin. Went in for a simple slice of cheese, and was blown away. These guys never let me down.

I ordered through DoorDash. I had a margarita pizza and it was great. The description was off - I ordered a New Jersey pizza which was supposed to have pepperoni, but I received a margarita pizza instead. However, I am not upset because I love a good margarita pizza, and this one was excellent. The ratio of dough, sauce, and cheese was perfect. The garlic olive oil drizzle was not overwhelming, just the right amount. Perfecrion.
I am looking forward to trying more items from the menu. I am grateful for DoorDash because I would not have tried this pizza otherwise. It is now worth the drive. Next time, I will pick up the order myself. :)
PS - I got a round pizza. If you’re looking for a Jett’s this is not it. More similar to a Supinos-ish. Very good. .

This looked like legit NY style pizza so I had to give it a try. I'm glad I did. It was perfectly thin and oh so delicious! The crust had that complex flavor only achieved with long fermentation. The undercarriage had just the right level of browning and crisp. This is the best pizza I've had in the Detroit area. Meatballs were a bit pricy, but very good as well. Highly recommended restaurant!

I'm not sure who's running this place on the weekends, but the last few times I've ordered online, I've had nothing but issues when I show up for pickup. Every time I get there, Oh, we had to remake the pizza because they made the wrong one. I go to my car, wait like ten minutes. I come back, pizza still wasn't done, waiting like another 5 minutes. Then when I get the pizza, there's like 5 pieces of ham on there. I asked about it and the guy who's cooking said, "they're underneath the cheese, we're not trying to stiff you". Sure thing, dude. it's really aggravating that I have to check my food; then when I asked about it, I got a rude respond.

Aug 2024 - ordered a pizza a few weeks ago; it was def good but yet disappointing at the same time; I ordered several toppings which included an extra cheese blend; I called in the order and even clarified that the cheese blend item would be in addition to the mozzarella cheese base, and was told yes it is; so, that should be a really cheesy pizza, right? But unfortunately it wasn't. The amount of cheese was barely adequate for a reg pizza, let alone asking for addnl cheese. Plus, it was missing the mushrooms I asked for. I probably would have given the pizza a 5-star if the cheese would have been what I ordered because you could tell the ingredients were quality. I just wish more care would have been used in making the pizza and not be so chintzy on the cheese, especially because this pizza is pretty pricey. I don't enjoy feeling like I'm being taken advantage of.

Ordered the jersey style pizza, sauce was pretty bland and the crust wasn’t anything special. Also got the garlic knots, which taste like low quality bread that wasn’t warmed up to order (definitely not made to order or warm whatsoever) with a garlic something plopped on top that had such an awful flavor both my boyfriend and I took one bite and put them down. Pretty disappointed as it looks delicious, but seems to be deceiving

First time walk in today. Atmosphere is clean and friendly service. Was going to try a slice of pizza, but they didnt look fresh and kinda dry like they had been sitting under the light for awhile. I ordered Tiramisu ($8) and fettuccine Alfredo ($17) and added chicken (extra $5) and it comes w/2 garlic knots. So it's a bit on the pricey side. Also, it was going to take 25 min so unless you order ahead, you'll be waiting. The fettuccine is a nice size portion and good taste but there was hardly any chicken. About 2.5 the amount of pasta ratio to chicken and for $22, not worth it in my opinion. However, the garlic knots are amazing!! Hot, flavorful with lots of garlic!!
The tiramisu was just ok, nothing special and kinda small for $8. Overall, I'd probably only come back for the garlic knots.

I did recommend and love this place the food is good but I ordered 2 pastas made the same way and the noodles was overcooked for the first time they made a excuse that the fettuccine is made homemade, mind u I have gotten food here at least once a week had to be over 20 times and I order the same pasta she offers to replace only ONE of the pastas not the 2 which was inedible so I go in to pick it up and then they messed it up again and promised to fix it next time, I call today they talking about I have to pay for the pasta and they will give me the 2 pieces chicken for free like what is wrong with there customer service ?‍♀️

I’m going to start with my recommendations: Fettuccine Alfredo, and Lasagne.

This is a well ran family business. The older woman makes all of this dough from scratch and it’s absolute perfection. The fettuccine Alfredo is to die for. It has a sweetness to it I can’t explain and I will get it over and over again and not get sick of it. The staff is EXTREMELY nice. They go above and beyond.

One night I called in about 20-25 minutes before they closed (I hate doing this to any restaurant, and if they’re out of something I’m ok with that) so I called Rocco’s ordered my usual, she said ready in 20 min. I found out later that she didn’t even have and pasta left she made it from scratch right when I called. THAT is customer service. I’ve read a lot of these negative reviews and I wasn’t impressed. Give this place a try you won’t regret it.

I love this place so much, it’s amazing pizza every time. Crust is phenomenal, sauce is phenomenal, and the toppings are always fresh! Please don’t ever change.
