The staff are very friendly and the food was fantastic.
We stopped at the Slipper yesterday, it has been a long time since we have been there, because we were disappointed with the wait staff with owner before, but this time they were fantastic Logan was the bartender when we first arrived and he did a outstanding job and he was busy but was always on top of it, the girl who took over for him did a great job too but I didn't get her name, but every worker there did a great job!! We will definitely stop again
Staff is friendly! Great addition to the Blue Slipper by adding outdoor dining and bar area.
Our first impression was how clean the restaurant was. I had a burger and fries. The fries were the best. The burger was very tasty. Hubby had a brisket sandwich which was very good. We will be back.
Right on m22 . Old place that aged well. Outdoor seating ok
The olive burger was excellent. The plain fries were........plain. slow service, but they were very busy and did not have enough staff (common problem in the area).
New owners..very nice and updated.more food options. Will be back
Absolutely beautiful place, full of History, and great locals!
If you find yourself near Onekama, Michigan, do yourself a favor ad make a stop at the Blue Slipper Tavern. This local gem offers great food, excellent service, and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. A seasonal highlight right now is the deep-fried asparagus - crispy, flavorful, excellent dip and absolutely worth the trip while it's still in season. Don't wait too long - it's a limited time treat that truly stands out. Service was fast and friendly with staff who clearly care about creating a good experience for their guests. Even better, the prices are more than fair for the quality you get. The tavern is launching an outdoor venue with live music which promises to make this spot even more of a local favorite as summer rolls in. This was my second visit, but it definitely won't be my last. Highly recommend stopping by.
First time in since the change of ownership and was hopeful to find a new place to order takeout close to Onekama.
Unfortunately, nothing hit the mark. Also would like to note I would have preferred to communicate this over a phone call, but between yesterday and today we have not had any luck getting someone to answer the phone.
The brisket sandwich was decent, but could use more flavor and desperately needs a better bun than basic white bread. Our chicken tenders were the ones you pray they aren’t when ordering at a restaurant.
But the real issue was the wing basket. The fries were soggy and the wings were some of the worst I’ve had. They almost seemed to be boiled as they were white and soggy, with 1 of the 6 being a wing/drum fusion with snapped bones that should not have been served to a customer - see picture.
Overall for $50, this was a disappointment to bring home for dinner. Posting this in hopes it can improve as Onekama really needs more options.

Great experience. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Burgers were outstanding! We'll definitely return.
Fantastic atmosphere, service, and food! So great to see the Slipper revived!!
Fantastic experience! Extremely friendly and attentive, the panini/soup options were one of a kind! Absolutely loved the live music! Can't wait to go back :)
Incredible food, a warm and welcoming vibe, and a surprisingly impressive selection of vegetarian options! We went all in on the dips—each one was delicious, but that ranch? It’s been living rent-free in my mind for 24 hours now (and that’s coming from a self-proclaimed ranch snob)🤤 I was really impressed with the kids’ menu here! Instead of the usual hot dog, chicken fingers, and mac & cheese lineup, they offer more elevated options—almost like a smaller version of the adult menu. They’ve managed to strike the perfect balance between kid-friendly appeal and great flavors, making it a win for both kids and parents. It’s refreshing to see a restaurant put real thought into their younger diners’ meals! The interior was a delightful surprise—modern and spotless, with just the right touch of quirky antique accents. And the staff? Genuinely friendly, attentive, and all smiles. If you haven’t been yet, be sure to add it to your list!
Food was real quick and good, smaller selection. Bartender was running the grill too, was cool watching him make the food. Amazing atmosphere and decor! Great place for a quick bite and vibes, lots to look at. Very nice bathroom too!
