Lahey's Pub is a local favorite -- great people serving creative cocktails and the vibe is laid-back and relaxed. Laura, Jamil and the rest of the gang are always welcoming. Grab some pizza or a salad from Portage Point Pizzeria and Cafe' with an ice-cold beer from Lahey's Pub and relax on the porch. Beautiful Portage Lake makes for an amazing view! It doesn't get any better than that.

After having a pleasant prolonged stroll with a friend out to the beach area on a scalding hot day, we headed to get some ice cream, and before departing, I wanted to rehydrate, so I noticed the smallish bar-looking spot and extrapolated that I'd proceed there as there wasn't anyone else frankly there which for an introvert it was excellent as it was just the two bar gentlewomen. So I proceeded there and requested some water which they cheerfully did and didn't pressure me for beverages of any other kind. So that was praiseworthy. It was a congenial environment, clean and tidy atmosphere. The gals were exceptionally cordial as I conversed with one of the gals who was only there until she had to return to college. She briefed me about how desolate it is during the wintertime in Manistee. Great conversationalist. After that I returned to my automobile and drove back to Traverse City. Altogether an extraordinary time for merely desiring to have some iced water, if I do say so myself.

There isn't enough space to sing the praises of the venue. Not only is it absolutely beautiful, Jamil was incredible to work with. He was so attentive and responsive to any questions or concerns we had leading right up to the day. He made my daughter's wedding exactly what she always dreamed it would be. Not only is the ballroom stunning , we were able to stay onsite and enjoy the entire weekend celebrating. If you want the perfect up north Michigan wedding, this is your place. It was perfect!

Wonderful vacation. There was something for everyone and the location is perfect. Highly recommend. We were in a lakeside pavilion with breathtaking views. We could also see the pool, playground, and fire area from the balcony. Great infinity pool and little beach. Also, if lake conditions are right, there is a beach down the road on Lake Michigan. The water was so clean and everything was gorgeous. Plenty of nearby day trips, as well as tons of hiking from the resort. 10/10

I’ve been here twice now, and every single time it’s been PHENOMENAL!!! The food is first class, the atmosphere, right by the water you can’t beat it!! Also, the thing that keeps me coming back for more, is just how well the customer service is. I truly feel like a family member, or just part of the local area, everytime I come there!! Can’t recommend them enough!!!

Portage Point Resort cancelled our reservation with 2 days notice. In January, we booked a week over the 4th of July. We were called 2 days before our check-in to let us know that our reservation was cancelled. The management offered to help us find off-site accommodations, however after not returning our phone calls we noticed that our fees had been refunded. We've had two previously successful trips to Portage Point Resort. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.

We rented a 3 bedroom condo with family ages 2-63yrs. The property had something for everyone. It was so convenient to rent a pontoon nearby and pull up to the dock to load the family. The small beach area, playground and lawn was great for the youngest grandchildren so we didn't need to travel far. Lake Michigan was just over the hill. Easy and simple take out food(pizza, salads, ice-cream) at the hotel and some live entertainment on the porch at night made it feel safe to enjoy and social distance.

Great place to relax and experience simple living away from the world at home.

Had reservations to stay at the property for about exactly ONE DAY before they changed our dates for the reservation we had agreed to on a phone conversation. Was told we could come back a month later. Sounds like we dodged a bullet by not being able to rent from these types of properties. I would guess that someone more important than I was in need of the desired accommodations we agreed to rent. Well, in hind sight I have saved a substantial amount of my money. We will NEVER entertain giving a positive rating for terrible customer service like this!
