Johnnie's Bar & Grill - Onsted

Now that was a tasty burger! We tried this place for the first time since we moved to Onsted a little over a year ago.I'm bummed we didnt try it sooner. Staff is very friendly as well! I can't wait to try all of the burger choices. 😋

Clean,friendly local bar with outstanding food. Bathroom has been remodeled, and it looks like a DIYer.
Family-friendly open area that doesn't crowd you.

Kid-friendliness: It's a bar,but I see alot of families with kids for dinner and earlier.

Great place to stop and eat on your way through town, or a viable place to have a few drinks and shoot some pool. Full game room and daily food specials, accompanied by a GREAT KARAOKE SHOW on Wednesdays (9-1am).

Come in and see Brandon at the bar and he'll take care of you. The home made Mashed Potato Bowl (yes like the KFC one but better) is to die for.

Went there for first time after we went through MIS Nite Lites. Service was excellent (other than the pizza taking longer than other meals to come to the table, which I realize isn't the waitress' fault), the food was delicious, especially my mushroom and swuss burger. We aren't fro. the area but if we go to Nite Lites in the future, will be back.

I really want to give them 5 stars but this is based on 2 visits.

Atmosphere nothing wrong with it seems like a local pub.

Food - 1st time I came was excellent even tipped the cook because it was great. Got the nachos medium and the chicken dinner. The portions were huge ! Nachos husband had he loved them. Chicken came with 3 or 4 pieces pretty sure 4 was excellent cooked with the right amount of cheese onion and green peppers.

Service first time was great the guy (manager I would assume was great friendly and was great at having conversations it was a slower night also.

Food - husband and I both ordered the chicken dinner and the hot cheese cubes . Chicken dinner came with 2 pieces this time around which was very wierd esp for $14 a piece and we deff got more the first time.

Service-!!! Pam was our bartender prolly one of the worst experiences I have had out here since we moved. We came here because it is one of the only bars that serve food late and open late. Came in sat at bar took about 8 minutes to get acknowledged she didn’t know how to make my drink which is whatever it happens as a bartender myself. Never offered us menus (menus should be offered every guest as long as kitchen is open )(again I work in this industry ) we almost left because of it than I finally asked her for menus. I stated I wanted to start with hot cheese cubes and 2 chicken dinners. She brought us our salads and dinner no cheese cubes which is fine whatever mistakes happen but she wrote it down when taking our order. (They weren’t on bill so never rang in) She never once came to check to see if we were ok, never once asked if we wanted another drink I prolly had 1/2 inch in my cup when starting to eat and never got asked again tho so dealt with it.

Now to continue with service I watched her take a few orders with people she was kinda rude not personable and acted like she just didn’t want to be there. One guy asked if he could add a beer on and pay the tab and she turned around ignored him and never said nothing for like 3 minutes. Another time she opened to many beers for the guy and the guy even said it is fine I’ll take them and she stated ya you will being a smartass I see. I just dropped my jaw that she would say this to someone.

I usually don’t write bad reviews but I was just like wow maybe she is having a bad day but this is a business and your money girl do better.

Not I give it the stars I gave because of the first time we came was great all around! But I will give it one more try before we don’t come back again and either I will change my rating up or down. I hope the owners see this as a training opportunity because I myself as a bartender and manager of a bar tip very well even the cooks and I would be appalled if my employee acted like this.

Johnnys catered a luncheon for my factory for 70 ppl and everything was perfect.

Compared to there prices, portion sizes for delivery orders are at bare minimum. I was a loyal customer, but since they decided to cut cost to the point, the quality of there food in portion sizes means I get practically nothing in return, I'm no longer a customer.

*In response to your response, I'm gonna set some facts straight. I looked out my window, thinking my order was there, and saw I had a package, I opened the door, to grab it, and your courier was literally just dropping off my food. I instantly shut the door in embarrassment, it wasn't intentional, by any means, and I was so besides myself. So, don't you dare make it seem like I answered the door with intent on being naked to deflect your poor business etiquette, shame on you. Secondly, I paid $70 for two bacon cheese pizzas (16.50×2), with EXTRA cheese (1.50×2) and got barely enough cheese for one order. Thirdly, I bought a Patty Melt with fries, an additional cost of ($3.00), and a side of waffle fries, which I made it a LARGE, and paid ($6.00) for and got, not even a handful on both orders. That's obviously a rip-off from your bottom line. To put that in perspective, I could go to any grocery store, and buy 2, mind you 2, atleat over 1.5lbs bags of fries for $3. And you get items at cost, and you charged me $3 for a pinch of fries. Plus, which you failed to mention, I always provided a 10% tip as thank you for a delivery. So, I'm not asking for retribution or free food, I will never order from you again, your to greedy as a small business owner. I'm just making it clear, that anyone who orders from you, that's what they can expect, and they can make there own choice.

I LOVED the pizza! Everything was huge. I visited from out of town. A friend's band was playing. STORM BANDITS was great! I met several friends there and had a great time. My friends said they plan to go back. I wish I lived closer. I'd be back for sure. It's very much worth the drive from Adrian...but not so much from Texas. ?
