I dream about these bagels. I grew up in Lake Orion, but I moved to Indiana recently and I have yet to find a bagel as good as Mannie's. Every time I visit my family up in Michigan I make sure to stop for a Mannie's bagel. Truly the absolute best bagels I've ever had, and no other place has been comparable so far.

I grew up in Lake Orion and used to get Mannie’s bagels in school. Over a decade later, I am now living in Grand Rapids and still make a trip to Mannie’s every time I am in town. The bagels are still just as fresh and delicious now as they were when I was growing up. I have visited several bagel shops around the Grand Rapids area and have never found anything that has come close to the quality of Mannie’s bagels. It’s safe to say I will be a customer for life!

I don’t usually leave reviews but these are literally the best bagels we’ve ever had. They have a ton of options and everything is super fresh and amazing in taste and quality. We keep coming back and everytime we do we buy more and more thinking they’ll last. However they never do because the second we get them home everyone fights over and devours them asking me to get them more next time. This bagel shop is amazing and literally has the best bagels - we will definitely keep coming back! ?

I am posting my review after reading some very negative comments. I guess we are all entitled to our opinions so here’s my two cents. Some remarked about the decor? Really? What is you want to see? Personally when I walk into a bagel shop I want the atmosphere of a real old school mom and pop shop. I do NOT want to feel like I’m at Dunkin’ Donuts. The bagels are expensive? I too remember bagel day at school when they were .25 a bagel. Guess what? We are old and prices have gone up. If you want a cheap dry bagel, Kroger has them for .89. Quit hating on this small business. We love mannies. It’s one of the few authentic small businesses left.

The space itself looks like it could use a lot of love, and the majority of underage girls working the counter look like they're miserable. It could be because they're young & up early, but I am not old enough (yet) to completely gaslight employees. It's my opinion from being a service industry worker for 20+ years when the majority are unhappy there's either an employer or customer base issue which is consistent. You cannot have most of your employees act like the patrons are the problem because you have a cramped space it looks like you've not put money into in years. This type of shop makes me hopeful for some healthy competition in the homemade bagel/cream cheese department for Lake Orion. The food isn't great enough to maintain against better competition with worthwhile service- you guys could do much better.
