The Brown Bear is the kind of place that'll take a good day and make it better.I was just passing through and decided to stop in for a quick lunch at the bar and was glad I did.The bartender/server made me feel welcome from the get-go, helped me with my order and even changed the channel on the TV over the bar so I could watch the Tigers.I ordered the Notorious Bear Burger and the server asked if I wanted the Cub (½ pound of meat!) or the full Bear Burger (1 whole pound of meat!!!). I reluctantly decided to b behave myself and ordered the Cub... and was glad I did because it was more than enough for me!The burger was delicious, the meat was cooked to order and the waffle fries were fresh and tasty. Plus, there are free refills on stuff drinks.In short, the service was impeccable, the prices very reasonable (I tipped 100% because the cost was so low) and the vibe was good.

Fish was fried perfectly even down to the tasty tartar sauce , fries were delicious and coleslaw was so good. Ordered a Kamikaze got a vodka and cranberry which is not even close to the same. A Kamikaze has vodka, orange liqueur triple sec and lime juice. Other than that my husband and I enjoyed dinner because we ordered the same thing and he also loved it. Definitely worth the drive for us. Their food is fantastic! The prices are more than fair and portion was perfect. Atmosphere waa friendly and relaxing. We will definitely be back soon!Parking: Depending on the day and how busy downtown is it has free on the street parking.

Ate here several weeks in a row. The food was great; the drinks were marginal. Ordering a beer is your best bet.The waitress started vacuuming around us at 7 pm while we were still eating. I don’t know if she was just clueless or wanted to push us out. Either way, it worked. We left.

Really wanted to try this restaurants after reading the food reviews but I did note complaints about long serving times at peak hours so we went this morning at 1030AM, parking lot and restaurant less than half full. The grumpy maitre tells us we can be seated right away BUT there will be a delay for the food of 35-40 minutes!! What a joke! If they dont have a cook they should close and not waste everyone's time. GO SOMEPLACE ELSE FOLKS11

Ate here for dinner one night. I think there were only 2 options for dining. Not much of a wait. Service was good and waitress was pleasant and helpful. We’re ordered quesadilla and salad. Looking at plates going by our table… I would say all looked good. Food arrived promptly and was just enough.

Last minute choice. After sunset dinner spot. Nearing end of season. Place wasn’t busy. Plenty of choices. Quick and attentive service. Ordered appetizer the gringo and patty melt. Would order again.
