I go for the unusual sodas like kitty piddle or barf soda..and the ice cream...they have great Carmel corn too..hundreds of different candies..a must stop in Pentwater Michigan..

Great place! Some cool candy, lots of interesting sodas, great popcorn, solid ice cream, and good people.

I get more disappointed every time I come here each year. Firstly, it seems like the bulk candy price goes up every time I’m back. It’s all the way up to $18 per pound??? I know inflation’s bad but there’s no way it’s $18-for-a-bag-of-sugar-and-corn-syrup bad.

Secondly (and the main reason for this one-star review) is the hostility I was met with when I tried to return a returnable bottle for 10¢ that I bought at the store. I bought a bottle of soda, walked down the block, drank it, and came back in to return it for the 10¢ deposit that is legally required in Michigan. The owner claimed that “they didn’t charge me a deposit” in the first place and therefore weren’t required to return one. If that’s the case, the owner should know that since the Bottle Bill was passed in 1976, it has been legally required for every business selling carbonated beverages to charge and return a deposit on all drinks labeled as such. Refusing to give me 10¢ back is just as illegal as never charging me a deposit in the first place. I tried to explain this to the owner, but he just said “sue me!” (Yes those were his exact words.) I eventually pulled out the written law and he finally agreed to give me my dime, but only after he had an odd power-trip moment in which he made me hand the dime back to him and then he handed it back to me to prove a point.

Anyway, I won’t be taking him up on his “sue me” offer since he did eventually return the dime, but I’m certainly considering reporting the business to the Attorney General for failure to comply with the law, since as I stated earlier, not charging a deposit on required drinks is just as illegal as not returning the deposit.

Great staff. The store is great.

My daughters and I were in yesterday and got some yummy treats from the bulk bins. When we checked out the man that bagged our stuff recognized us from the last time we were in there. We go at least once a year on our way home from our lakehouse in Baldwin. Thanks for always being a part of our vacation :)

Popcorn is great! Customer service is also great. The prices are a tad high which is to be expected in a town like this, just know beforehand. :) I highly recommend the Chi Town cheddar popcorn - DELISH!!

May 2025 Yes variety is extensive - BUT so very Over Priced and Manager/Owner is the worst! Some of candy is so Old <<<
Spent $20 on 4 different kinds of chocolate = 20 small pcs- clerk put one wrong type in that I discovered as i left store. Came back in an talked with her ( she was so nice and just made mistake) - she went to Manager and he made her pick out the wrong pieces before she could replace. How awful after someone else had put hand in bag... I would have just thrown out and paid discount for their mistake. Terrible customer service! We also bought popcorn - so spent over $40 .... Don't give them your business - not worth over paying and do not care about customer. AND look at date of the reviews<<<
