Very fun outdoor bar with music and atmosphere. We even had fun under the roof during the pouring rain storm. Other patrons were friendly and would intermingle. However, you could remain in your own group if you wanted.

The five star reviews are definitely from the staff and/or paid…this place is so gross. Prior to covid it was a solid place…nothing great, but definitely serviceable. Now their food is disgusting, they serve beer in gross plastic cups that look like they were used for a day care 30 years ago. Staff is always confused and just barely helpful. The bags are left out and moldy…so sad because there is so much potential if they had even minimal standards. The only recent thing is that they brought in food trucks which serves far better food than the restaurant itself.Oh well…I’ll keep cooking at home.

My beer cup had black mold spots in it. When I brought it to the backyard bartenders attention they didn't care. I ordered a sandwich only but they charged me for a basket which I didn't realize until after I'd paid. This place is a rip off.

Fun night listening to County Parks play.

Delicious food! I got the omelette with chorizo and it was a very large portion paired with hash browns that were well portioned as well. Super tasty with a little something for everyone on the menu. Small restaurant with only one bathroom and the "fresh fruit" was definitely not fresh (but still good) are the only things that I could possibly critique.

We always enjoy the village atmosphere at the Pub. Great place to watch an MSU game and know you're among friends.

I used to love this place. Quality of the food and cleanliness has declined in the past year. Hopefully this place comes back (I’ll happily change my review).

Pricey but great quality of food. Ate outside as staff shortage couldn't accommodate inside customers. We has a stroller so we opted to walk around bldg. to tables. Great menu, friendly staff. Barbequed food offered separately set up to side. Drinks are ordered at bar & paid for there. Food is ordered there and you carry your own meal to table I clear it. Serving staff takes drink orders & checks on food. We knew the server! We knew the entertaining singer. Great time! The chicken cranberry wrap was good also perch and waffle fries. Yum.

We enjoyed eating lunch outside. There is live music and comedy depending on the evening. The food wasn't great, but good enough.

This is the most disappointing dining experience I've had in a long time. This is a casual sit down spot in a back yard. You order at the bar, a fact which we only discovered when no one helped us at the table after a few minutes. We waited for 50 minutes with no food service- for a two-top at a non peak time! Finally someone came to check on us and noticed we hadn't gotten anything we ordered. When our food arrived 1 hour later, half the order was incorrect! At that point, I asked the manager to give me a refund for the incorrect order. The team behind the bar started to bicker, saying things like "this has got to stop happening" while another employee started ranting about the problems with the management at this restaurant. Not a good look... We took our $15 refund and got the hell out of there. Pigs will fly the next time I step through these doors.

The Village Cafe is an embarrassment. A dumpster fire dining establishment. We ate there August 2022, and they made the worst version of three different things in a row. Perch and pizza were inedible. They literally f***** up chicken fingers. I was sitting at a table with six other people and a toddler, and no one thought the food was edible. I mean, how do you f*** up chicken fingers so badly a toddler won't eat it? I get that it's a bar first, restaurant second. Alright. Except the bar service is equally terrible. One lady poured a glass of vodka with a splash of soda. The next poured a glass of soda with a splash of vodka. Zero thought or consistency. Go elsewhere.

A complete waste of money! This place is terrible! The fish sandwich was a small piece of fish on a big stale bun, the fish basket was two small pieces of fish with a bunch of fries. The cheese pizza was all sauce and no cheese. The location and set up is great, how ever the people running the place must be complete idiots because the food is terrible and the service could be better! The man selling bbq for bird land out back would probably be the way to go!

Food was ok nothing to brag about one of our party had to wait for about 20 min to get her food the rest of us were pretty much done before she got it. We stopped there because they had softer music than the better restraunt across the street but the owner shut the music off because he didn't want it. Well the rest of us did. The staff even wondered why it was off

This review is for Backyard BBQ run by father and son Greg and Keith. The food was AWESOME and a GREAT VALUE for the money! Both Greg and Keith were very nice and rightfully proud of the food they prepare. A MUST STOP when you are in Pentwater! It will be our 1st stop when we go back. Get there early before they run out of your favorites! ?
