We took my mom out for her birthday, she and I ordered the Prime Rib while my husband got a smoked sandwich. It was early for us, but the prime rib was down to the last two pieces already and we like rare. We took the chance and ordered it anyway, we were NOT disappointed! While a bit more done than we prefer, it was still amazing! It was super tender, full of flavor, great bark. Husband said the sandwich was amazing as well. The owner, himself, came out to check on us as he knew about the last two portions things. He was concerned with making sure that even though we decided to order knowing it may be a bit more done than our preference, that we still enjoyed the food. He offered to make us something else, there was zero need. Very sweet, very involved owner. LOVE IT!!! We will be back!

Ate in the first time - good. Second time a few weeks later, 7/22/25 and ordered out. Got home and found my chicken breast dinner was dried out mummified hard as a rock. Worst chicken I have been served by any restaurant. Strange because the first visit, wife ordered a salad with chicken and I tried the chicken and it was tender, flavorful and mouth watering, the total opposite of the take out chicken I was given. Smoke doctor owes me a dinner, this was 17 bucks down the tubes. If I was actually there, I would have sent it back and/or changed my order to the brisket like I had the first time and was so good. Click the picture to see it better.

I went there today for the first time and I wasn't impressed 😐. Our food was cold, no flavor and small portions for the price.

Ordered the sampler plate. Let's start with the bad. The chicken and pulled pork were bland. The ribs dry rubbed I said to myself finally someone who lets the meat speak, instead of drowning it in sauce. The brisket was very good.I will be back there are many more things on the menu I would like to try.

Side effects: Full meal induces tear production (from joy) & subsequent 2-3 hour food coma.

This is the best barbecue joint in all of Livingston County. I'm so happy they opened a Howell location; I gave myself a severe case of the -itis there just yesterday from that brisket burger.

Tried the Howell location tonight. Waited for 2 hours for our food. Mozzarella sticks had the cheese leak out. The ribs were all fat, the chicken was greasy. I will not be going back. Not a good first impression.

Total Joke. OVER Priced. Mac+Cheese is Absolutely Terrible. Shame on This Place.
*I Drive past there EVERYDAY ....Early in A.m. ......I NEVER See or Smell the Outdoor Smoker going.
*Leads me to Believe,They Bulk Smoke + Freeze their meat.....then just Re-Heat it.

All in all I would come back only if I was in the area. All the different meats were very good, especially the brisket and ribs. The french fries were good and the loaded mashed potatoes were okay at best but they were quite dry. Our biggest problem was with the mac and cheese which you expect to be outstanding at a barbecue restaurant. We like it stringy cheesy chewy and to have been baked. This was more runny like it was made with a homemade sauce with noodles stirred in. Other problem was the bathroom which had clean fixtures but the walls could use painting and so could the filthy door. It would only take a couple hours to make it welcoming and nice looking. I was hoping it would be THAT play she want to tell all your friends about and have cravings for but for now I will drive further to Detroit or Chelsea or Milford. I would still stop by in the area for a sandwich to go but for now that's about it. Also the staff was fantastic. You had to also pay for water and there's no ice available.

We tried this place for the first time hoping for some good BBQ close to us and were frankly disappointed. The brisket was dry and on the tough side, favor was ok but nothing special. The ribs were ok but you can get better at Coscto, the pork ok, the chicken had no flavor other than smoke. Great BBQ melts in your mouth and this was not it. Mac and Cheese was low grade, potatoes ok. Prices were not that bad but definitely not worth coming back.

This place is sooo top notch it's ridiculous.
Between the meals, the sides, and the
bbq sauce itself. This place truly nails it 100% of the time. Coming in and getting my food, the ladies at the front always make me laugh. I can not speak highly enough about this place. If you are looking for quality bbq, then look no further. This is the spot.
