Birrieria El Zacatecano offers both traditional and trendy Mexican dishes. Birria flavored tacos, pizza, ramen, and even hot Cheetos balls can all be found here.

My wife and I began the meal with chips and salsa, which is served with both red and green salsas. The red salsa had a bit of a kick. After that, we ordered chips and queso, birria ramen, hot Cheetos birria balls, and a walking taco. Of these, the birria balls were by far the best, and were my favorite part of the meal. The birria ramen was very cheesy, but enjoyable nonetheless. The chips and queso and the walking taco were standard.

For our entree, we ordered 5 tacos. The ones we got along with my ranking of them are below:

1. Quesabirria (shredded beef)
2. Asada
3. Quesabirria (lamb)
4. Lengua (beef tongue)
5. Al pastor

All of these were legitimately worth getting. The lamb had a gamey taste to it, and the lengua had a texture that took a second to get past.

Lastly, we got both the caramel and regular churros. Of those, I preferred the caramel. Birrieria El Zacatecano is a place I recommend trying, and plan on returning to in the future.

Ordered takeout from here recently
Birria Ramen
Walking tacos
Corn
And I hate to say it but the food was definitely not worth my money 😔 we all were extremely disappointed. The ramen had absolutely no flavor, was supposed to be ground beef walking tacos but instead had chewy steak textured meat, and I love me some elote corn but this place completely missed something. I hope that the food quality gets better. Unfortunately, I won’t ever go back.

Just wanted to say I was glad to find a very delicious Taco place and thought I'd share it because my family and I are sick to death of fast food, and all of the same usual places we frequent. They all are worn out on us. But its so laborious to cook all the time.

Today we had QuesaBarria Tacos (made with corn tortillas, cheese, and seasoned beef grilled together nice and crispy)
The kicker is, it comes with a delicious beefy tomatoey consumme dipping sauce. What an amazing flavor.

We had one each, that my brother brought over for us, so we could taste them.

We liked them so much we went back tonight and bought a whole pizza made the same way. The 'pizza' is made with a flour tortilla, not quite as crispy but just as much flavor.
LOVE LOVE LOVED the consumme dip.

We're definitely gonna go back and try more stuff from there. But even for a change of pace, I'd say give the QuesaBirria tacos with consumme a try.

I tried to get pictures before it was completely annihilated, but it was so delicious it went very quickly at our house.

We also tried the flautas, which were good and nicely presented, though I did wish there was a bit more seasoning on the chicken (perhaps on the rice and beans also) but I'm still looking forward to trying more menu items from this place.
The QuesaBirria Tacos with consumme were definitely 5stars!!!
Thankyou!!

I pay attention to details. I ordered 2 walking tacos. This was my second day in a row returning. When my order was finished the owner attempted to give me my food to carry as it was. I asked for a bag. He gave me a container which was cool. So I assumed he didn't have any bags. Another customer came and when she got her food he gave her a bag. I was confused because even though he gave me a container I still needed a bag to carry it in. I'm not sure what the issue was but hey....

Damn, I’ve gotta say—I’m seriously bummed out. I was hyped to try this place after the way my niece talked it up. She made it sound like something special, and I was all in. But hearing what my buddy went through just walking in? This place is an absolute trainwreck. Not only did it take forever for anyone to acknowledge him, but the employee who finally appeared had food all over her hands and no gloves. Straight-up health code violation right there—disgusting. And the kicker? She claimed the restrooms were “broken,” while there were two right in the lobby, fully visible.

Then we find out they’ve got kids playing around on a grimy floor behind the counter, no supervision in sight. I mean, that’s beyond unprofessional; it’s nasty. This place isn’t just a disappointment; it’s a total health hazard. If this is how they operate, they’re begging for a shutdown.

As I waited in the car, looking forward to trying this place, I could have never imagined the shock I’d feel hearing what my fiancé endured. Not only was the service appallingly slow—he waited nearly ten minutes before anyone acknowledged his presence—but the entire experience reeked of disregard for basic health, safety, and sanitation standards.

Firstly, the employee who eventually surfaced had food all over her hands and no gloves. This is not just bad practice; it’s a potential health code violation. In any establishment serving food, employees are required by law to follow strict hygiene protocols, especially involving handwashing and glove use when handling food. This lack of basic cleanliness is disturbing and could have serious consequences for customers’ health.

Even worse, the employee refused restroom access with the excuse that it was “broken,” despite having two visibly functional bathrooms in the lobby. Public establishments typically have a legal obligation to provide restroom access to customers, especially paying ones. Denying that access, particularly after encouraging customers to dine in, raises questions about compliance with customer rights and local health ordinances.

To add to this, there were young children playing on a visibly dirty floor behind the register without adult supervision. This not only presents safety hazards for the children but also raises serious sanitary concerns. Allowing children to play in food prep or service areas is a gross violation of both health and safety standards, which mandate that food service areas be kept clean and restricted to authorized personnel only.

Frankly, this situation suggests a potential need for health inspections and might even merit reporting to local health authorities. Businesses operating with such disregard for sanitation and customer welfare should not be allowed to continue endangering public health. This experience went far beyond disappointing; it was disturbing, unsanitary, and potentially illegal.

Social Growth

I visited this place today based on my daughter’s recommendation—she hasn’t tried it herself yet but was eager to. I made the drive to this unappealing part of town, only to be met with a thoroughly disappointing experience.

Upon arrival, I had the unfortunate need to use the restroom. I waited nearly ten minutes at the counter as the young lady working in the back seemed to prioritize other tasks. Eventually, she emerged, visibly unclean with food on her hands and no gloves, an alarming disregard for basic hygiene. When I asked about the restroom, she informed me it was “broken,” with a lackluster apology. I explained that I was there to order food as a paying customer and urgently needed to use the restroom, but she only repeated that it was unavailable—despite two visibly present restrooms in the lobby.

If I could give this place a negative rating, I absolutely would. The experience was atrocious. To add insult to injury, feeding my family here would typically cost over $100, yet the employee’s indifference not only drove me away but cost the business a significant sale. Here’s hoping they fix their service and cleanliness standards because, as it stands, it’s unacceptable.

The food is okay I asked for extra rice with my dinner because I don’t eat beans and the girl still gave me beans instead of what I asked and paid for seems if she already had an attitude and the whole time I was polite . 18 dollars wasted I’m not eating here again!!
