This review is based on at least 250 times eating at this Restaurant in the last 9 years.
This Restaurant has disappointed me? Yes probably less than 5 times if I remember.
Food is awesome is like home made food for me.( but remember my roots are Mexican) I have tried Many Mexican restaurants and This is the best in town for me.
The service is everage to me.
The atmosphere is ok for me.
BUT... If you want real Mexican Food, we'll 90% of their food is.

I travel often, and no Chimichanga I’ve tried compares to the one here. The portions are generous, the flavors are authentic, and the quality is unmatched—even among top chains. If you're in the area, I highly recommend this spot. Just be warned: it’s hard not to clean your plate!

I'll give 4 stars for the atmosphere since it was nice. But what a huge disappointment in the food and service. The cabeza taco I had was okay, but it did lack flavor. The carne asada taco was not good. It was pretty obvious it was not fresh. It was so dry it was almost like beef jerky. And again where is the flavor? The waitress and I were obviously not understanding each other, especially since what I ordered wasnt even what I received. When I tried to explain in Spanish what I wanted, she just turned around and left. My thing is there are so many Mexican restaurants serving good food, why would you even come here? Just not a great place. Take my advice and go anywhere else other than here. If you can't even give me a decent taco, the most basic of Mexican food, then what's the point?

Let me start off by saying I used to love this place. It's a shame the quality has plummeted. I went here recently and ordered lunch portion of chicken chilaquiles. The chicken tasted like it went bad. I stopped eating and told our waitress. We went to pay and they told us our meals were on the house. My husband tried to at least pay for his tacos and our waitress says "if you ask one more time, you're going to be charged". The restaurant is ghetto, loud and dirty. Most of the time there are dead flies along their window sills. 🤮 The taco trucks around that area are 100x better. Sorry El maguey, but you lost our service. 👋🏼

The food is great, and the time for food is okay, depending on how busy they are. but they need to hire some busers to clean off tables so people aren't waiting around for a table.
