Whoa the word pleasantly surprised is an understatement.... I pass by this place often and I always see people coming in and out but because it just says "meats" on the outside I never thought it was a soul food restaurant....BUT THEN one day I noticed a small sign underneath the "meat market" sign that said "soul food" so I thought maybe I'll try them out.... The bbq is on point! Greens and mac n cheese were good and the cornbread is amazing. Service was great for a take home outfit. I will definitely be back. I would have given 5 stars but my chicken was slightly dry.

I know there are a lot of mixed reviews about this place, but from Mt experience, I'd give 5 stars. I got fried chicken elsewhere but wanted soul food sides, so I got candid yams, macaroni, and greens. They were all so good. The greens had ribs falling off the bone in them, so they weren't from the can, as i know some people said on here in the reviews. The macaroni was homemade, and candid yams had good flavor. Wasn't expensive at all and good portions. Will return.
