Parents came to Michigan from LA to visit and Servers were very kind and always kept our drinks full. Food was awesome. i might be wrong with the name of the food we ate but, Higgins Philly, walleye roast and (shrimp tacos?). All 5 stars. as soon as we walked in we could see the Bar was full of customers for lunch time and that says it all for me.

This place is definitely out of the way in central Michigan. Food was great. Service was great. Atmosphere was great. Get there early, like 4:30 and you’ll get happy hour prices. And even if you miss HH, everything is great. Enjoy!!

We have passed this restaurant many times and when we found the Spikehorn closed ,decided to try this establishment. It was about 5:00 and they were not real busy, a nice person took us to our seats in the bar area,and we sat and sat and sat. During this time we kept seeing this one server, who did not appear to be very motivated, looking our way often as she was talking to her friends sitting at a table next to us. After almost 30 minutes, we left, and won’t be back.

We didn’t eat but the drinks were excellent and service was great. Our bartender Matthew was knowledgeable, kind, cool and proficient. Management was having trouble with wifi but made sure everyone was aware of cash only and were doing there best to solve their issues as quickly as possible. Which they eventually did. Their liquor selection was extensive and filled with many options. We were happy they had keno. Would definitely return. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

My husband and I stopped in tonight for dinner. The hostess quickly seated us at a hightop table overlooking the patio and said that due to the busyness of the evening, our waitress would be with us in a few minutes. That was no problem for us because we were not in a hurry. However, after many minutes, we began to suspect that we had been forgotten. Sure enough, several of the wait staff started looking over at us and talking among themselves about who was going to wait on us. Actually, the word I should use is arguing over who was supposed to be waiting on us. Now, we were seated very close to where the kitchen is so we could hear everything they were saying. A couple of times, my husband looked at me and said.” Are they talking about us??” We finally got menus and several minutes later someone came to take our drink and dinner order. Again, they started arguing among themselves, just a few feet away from us, how about who was supposed to be waiting on us. My husband finally turned around and said” Can you all please stop arguing and just let us enjoy our dinner!” We did get our dinner and drinks, but after that no one came to check on us, we were not offered any refills on drinks, and I don’t know if there was any dessert menu because we were not offered one. As soon as we finished our plates, the waitress came and picked them up and never said another word to us. We were made to feel like we were a complete burden to them and they couldn’t wait for us to leave. . I also want to mention, that shortly after we sat down, two women were seated in the same area a couple of tables from us and after several minutes they had to ask who their waitress was so they could get water and menus. The wait staff definitely took away the enjoyment of our dinner and we couldn’t wait to leave. We did something that we never ever do… We did not leave a tip and I give no apologies for that.

I come to Higgins Lake most summer holidays and cannot express enough my first experience with this place and how excellent it was! Really the best place around the lake with varieties of alcoholic beverages and craft beer to choose from and the food was to die for! Enjoyed you guys so much tonight and thank you for being a great spot!

We went to the Cut last week with a large group (14). We were seated promptly (we had reservations) and our server, Tristen, was fabulous. We had great service with a wonderful attitude.
