This past summer, my husband and I were searching the Thumb area for a good burger joint. While checking out a bar known for its hamburgers in Port Hope, a local recommended we try Farmers Tavern in Ruth, MI. He said the meat used for the hamburgers is always fresh - has never been frozen.
We beelined to the tavern and were pleasantly impressed. The burger is juicy and delicious. We’ve been back 5 times since and have enjoyed great food and attentive service all in an old tavern atmosphere.
If you are hankering for a top-notch burger, check the Farmers Tavern. You will not be disappointed!

Food portions were very good. Reasonably priced. I would have given him five stars everything was great until I use the restroom men's room is disgusting. It can't cost that much to replace that little vanity sink and faucet!

I swear we always get the best meals in the most surprising locations. My boyfriend heard about this place. We stopped on our way home from a mini vacation in the thumb. The waitress/bartender was great. The food was so good. I love French fries and I will tell my chive fries were one the best fries I have ever had. The locals chatting at the bar chatting made our night! We will definitely go back when we are in the area.

What a nice little place! We live a few hours away, but my dad has a place up here and we decided to come up for a few days to visit. My dad suggested that we give this place a shot and it was fantastic!
The food was good and everybody was very friendly. Quite possibly the best chicken tenders I’ve ever had. Chelsey, who I assume was the owner gave us some chips to get free drinks next time we’re out and was super nice.

This place is so cool! We came home to the thumb area from Wyoming. Had the perch baskets, food, service & atmosphere was awesome! We'll be back the 1st week of June! Thanks for fixing an amazing perch dinner!
