I'm so happy I found this gem! The food is excellent! It's fresh and authentic, no Americanized Mexican food; this is legit. The hot sauce is blazing hot, but I love that. The chips and salsa are so good that you're almost full by the time the food comes. Plus, they have a little market in the restaurant with great prices.

Tried them out for the first time today. Absolutley wonderful!! The hot sauce is actually hot! Just got tacos, rice and beans, and everything was excellent. We will definitely be regulars! ❤️

First time trying there food asada tacos were flavorful menudo was good not full of harmony BUT the portion very small for 12$ maybe 4 to 5 spoonfuls small spoonfuls @ that very UNACCEPTABLE !

This review is for Carmelita’s Family Store & Restaurant located on 2365 South Michigan Avenue, in Saginaw. Our primary goal was to find a great place to get authentic Mexican chips, something close to what we had in New Mexico. So far, this place did not disappoint. We also ordered a half-dozen Tamales, which were excellente. We will definitely be returning for more. Highly recommended.
