St Clair Coney Island

Disappointing experience today. It's Labor Day so the place was busy but by no means full. I sat down in a booth immediately and a waitress took my drink order. When she brought my water and coffee, she said she would return to take my food order after she "ran an order" (which I assume means deliver an order to a table). Anyway, the server (the girl with a ring in her nose) never returned to my booth. I tried to get her attention several times but had no luck. She was busy delivering orders, working the register, and taking orders from two tables that were seated after I had come in. Clearly, she had completely forgotten about me. Meanwhile, the owner/manager (I don't know which) was busy chit chatting with people he clearly knew at various tables. That would be fine under normal circumstances when everything is running smoothly, but not when staff are disorganized/unable to keep up. He should have been checking around with the tables/booths to make sure everything was ok. After 15 minutes and once the owner/manager returned to the counter, I did approach him and let him know I had been waiting a long time to have my order taken and that I had given up. I'm not trying to trash this place. The place looks nice. I never had any food so I cannot review that. The food might be ok but none of that matters if the staff isn't able to do the job.

Come here regularly. Remodel is great. Waitstaff is just fine and friendly. The last dozen coneys I got were weak. Very little sauce. The dog was practically dry. $20 bucks for 3 weak dogs and two orders of fries with two drinks is getting a little crazy.

The St. Clair Coney has great owners who are engaged with the customers and with their staff. The Coney Dogs, breakfast and Hanni sandwiches are fantastic. The wait staff is friendly and the service is very good. Great job Bennett’s on bringing the place back to life.

I have been to Coney Island twice for the 1/2 pound burger. Some of the best burgers I've ever had. The staff was very attentive. Try one of the big brownies by the register.
I will be back.

Amazing breakfast and lunch specials! The dinner specials on their late evenings (mondays and fridays) are always delicous. The breakfast is THE BEST in town, hands down.

The best restaurant in town for breakfast, hands down! They have different specials everyday and are open late on Mondays and Fridays till 7p with dinner specials! The new owners care about the quality of food and service they provide, plus the remodel is AMAZING!!

St. Clair Coney is a small town restaurant with incredible staff! Each staff member ensures your experience is nothing but the best. Our food has always been great! The remodel looks very clean and comfortable! We will continue to make this a weekly stop! We appreciate you! Glad you’re back!
