This really is more of a place for take-out than dine-in; the seating area is small, narrow, and allows very little light to enter. And yet, though I'm almost purely a dine-in guy, I enjoy coming here. The hearty, delicious and authentic Mexican cuisine and the friendly service thoroughly make up for the shortcomings of the building. If you want real Mexican food, this is the place to go in the Saint Johns area.

Amazing food. They brought out chips, salsa, beans and pickled veggies. All food was absolutely delicious and the service was awesome!!!

The food is unbelievable. I just moved here from New Mexico and I never dreamed I could get real Mexican food this good in Saint John’s. The food is great and full of so much flavor and the sauces are incredible. So so much better than I could’ve ever expected.

Wonderful restaurant! Owner cooks and represents his restaurant very proudly. Everything, I mean everthing tasted delicious! If you are offered hibiscus tea order it! I ordered a chicken chimichunga which came with rice, beans, salad with pickled carrots and a grilled jalapeño pepper. Chips and salsa were the best I have ever had. My girlfriend had the Texas Fajitas that included beans, rice, salad and the grilled jalapeño pepper! Both dishes were seasoned like no other. We ordered a side of street corn and like everything else it was great. I rarely give 5 stars but this is one of those places that truly deserve it.

Food was amazing, we were in town from Howell for an event and stopped to eat. The owner was friendly and service was fast.

Service was great! Food was great! Rice wasn’t our favorite. Bottle water is what they serve for dine in at $3 each. Recommendation is more of a take out restaurant than a sit down.

Wow! Authentic tacos and service above and beyond! I arrived before they opened with a large order for 10 and they got started before they opened and had it ready within 15 minutes! Very friendly and the food was delicious!

Review of Los Naranjos Taqueria

If you're in the mood for authentic Mexican flavors that burst with freshness and depth, look no further than Los Naranjos Taqueria. This humble spot delivers a culinary experience that captures the essence of traditional Mexican cooking. Each taco is a testament to bold, vibrant flavors — from the tender, perfectly seasoned carne asada to the smoky, charred al pastor. The salsas, ranging from mild to fiery, complement every bite with a delightful kick, and the freshly heated tortillas are soft yet sturdy, holding all the fillings together beautifully.

However, while the food is undoubtedly exceptional, the space itself is less than ideal for a leisurely meal. The dining area is quite small, with only a handful of tables, which can make the atmosphere feel cramped, especially during peak hours. On top of that, the lone server, who is also the cook, may leave you waiting a little longer than you'd like. The multitasking is impressive, but it’s clear that this small team could possibly find it hard to keep up with the demand during busy times.

Despite the modest setting and the wait, the standout flavors at Los Naranjos Taqueria are absolutely worth it. If you can embrace the simplicity and the minor inconveniences, the reward is an unforgettable taste of Mexico that will keep you coming back.

A starter restaurant, only a few issues that I encountered, chip dip had no flavor, had to add salsa, and fajitas meats where mixed together, wasn't able to just have a one meat taco because it was all mixed! Besides that, my child lived her food!

Really good food, full flavor, quality ingredients. It’s not pump and dump Tex-Mex. This is the real deal.
