I had high expectations when hiring this private chef service for a special in-home dining experience, but it turned out to be one of the most disappointing meals I’ve ever had. For $720 (for six people), I expected a well-executed, restaurant-quality experience. Instead, two elderly individuals individuals showed up who could barely walk, which immediately raised concerns about their ability to provide the level of service promised.
The food presentation was terrible—nothing looked appetizing or professionally plated. The meat was rubbery and poor quality, making it inedible. To top it off, the dessert was literally a $7 frozen Daiya cheesecake from the grocery store, something I could have grabbed myself for a fraction of the price.
For the amount we paid, this was beyond unacceptable. There was no sense of quality, effort, or professionalism. I would strongly advise anyone considering this service to look elsewhere unless you want to overpay for a subpar meal that you could have made better yourself.
The owner talked the talk and wanted to be paid in full upfront. Of all the private chef experiences I have ever hired, never have I had to pay before receiving the service. Now I know why.
I want at least half my money back.

Base Bowls & Company graciously catered an event on a Saturday for my daughter's dance team. Despite the distance Stephanie had to travel to get to the venue, the food was absolutely perfect.
The mac n cheese was the best I've had in a long time, and the wrap and green tea were phenomenal! My picky child enjoyed her parfait, wrap, mac n cheese, and boba lemonade.
I had a fairly larger order, and everything was there. The food was packaged very well, the portions were amazing, and the price was great.
I will 100% place orders with Base Bowls & Company in the future, especially if it's offered as a meal option during an incredibly long day.

Stephanie put together an amazing grazing table for my niece’s bridal shower yesterday. It looked fabulous, everything was fresh and delicious. It was a huge hit with the bride to be and guests!

Waited 45 minutes to carry out 1 sandwich, 1 grilled cheese, a toast, and two smoothies, despite the place being completely empty when we walked in. We were handed our smoothies at the 10 minute mark but one of them was warm. Would not recommend the veggie toast - it’s just raw veggies, also would not recommend the grilled cheese given it was $13 for a slice of cheese on bread. Pretty frustrated as we were expecting a <10 minute stop and instead spent $90 and almost an hour.

We arrived at the noon opening time behind one other small party. 30 minutes after ordering, still having no sandwiches, I asked at the counter, “how long does it take to make 3 sandwiches?” We waited a LONG time to get our food. There were no bathrooms available to the public or for patrons. If you’re going to make someone wait 30 minutes for food, especially since I spent close to $90 there (lunch, for a party of 3), you should probably let them use a bathroom while waiting. I asked where the closest one was, and instead of offering theirs, they sent me up the road. In my opinion, if they got their act together, it would be a VERY nice venue that is close proximity to the beach. There were no tables inside to eat on; only chairs everywhere and some coffee tables. You should consider adding outdoor seats up front if possible. The strawberry mango smoothie and blueberry lemonade boba were delicious, though. Noteworthy: While it didn’t affect my order, they did have to send someone out to restock the bananas and GF bread, just minutes after opening for the day. I overheard employees complaining about how the items were not at the venue yet. One very polite and helpful employee who took my GF order let me know that the chicken salad contains flour. I just ordered something else. After we had ordered, she later came over to me and let me know they have 2 vendors and the chicken salad they had in the restaurant actually WAS gluten free, and she asked if I wanted to change my mind (if I still wanted the chicken salad from when I first ordered) which I appreciated. I wish I knew her name to give her a shoutout, but she had nose rings, if that helps to identify her.
Dietary restrictions: I am gluten-free. They offered GF baked goods that I found to be mediocre. They also had GF bread for sandwiches (which they ruined by adding butter to the bread).
Parking: We parked for free right across the street. I could not see a lot anywhere to park.
Healthy and tasty. Great place to go on a beach day or when out on a walk for date night.
Vegetarian options: You can get salads and bowls completely vegan
Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free and vegan options
Kid-friendliness: Great atmosphere to have kids in and get food for them

Ladies working are super friendly and the food is excellent.I will suggest they improve on food ordering operations and the preparation of food. Long wait for the food to be prepared and no designated areas to fill out the paper ordering forms. I fear it could be a long wait on a nice summer day. The prices seem to be a bit strong as well. We ordered 3 smoothies, 1 bowl, 2 sandwiches and the cost including tip was just over $90. I will say all of the fruit and other ingredients were quite fresh and it all tasted excellent.We look forward to returning!
