My husband and I loved the ribeye and calamari! They had excellent wine and great service

As a new St. Joseph Resident, (from Toronto!), my Fiancé and I have been dying to try this beautiful spot. We decided to do a staycation at the holiday inn express next door for the weekend while our house gets painted. After tonight…. Oh. My. Gosh. You must go immediately!!!!!

First and foremost, our darling waitress, Katherine with a K, was unbelievable. Witty, knowledgeable, confident. I mean, I wish I could hire her as my own little personal assistant, (or daughter in law! Knockout!).

Food-wise, I ordered the lemon butter perch. Super duper yummy. We also had the bang bang shrimp, garlic Parmesan wings, and calamari as appetizers. Fabulous. My fiancé had the grilled Cajun salmon which was out of this worlddddd. Seriously good enough to be a death row meal.

The only downfall…….. our drinks. I am a bartender, but I SWEAR I am not a snob about drinks. We wanted to try a bunch of stuff, so we ordered the following throughout the night:

Lakehouse sunset, and the lakehouse aviation were both so yummy. I wish I could have the sunset at brunch! My fiancé had the draft beers. Oberon and Kona big wave. He is a man of few words and said they were good. Ha!

The lavender bellini and pain killer were literally the size of shot glasses. I was so confused why they would serve these cocktails in such glasses. It was crazy considering the price point.

I feel like the entire restaurant could level up if they upped their drink game. It took for-ev-er. Katherine had to apologize multiple times because of it.

Overall this place rocks. SUPURB service from a cool local kid, a view of the sunset over the lake, free parking, good food, good beer. What more could a woman dream of. So blessed in this tiny beach town in Nowhere, Michigan.

As a rehearsal dinner of 20+ people, I couldn’t be more pleased with our experience. The food and service was wonderful. We were even serenaded by our waitress, Karima, with Whitney Houston to celebrate our upcoming nuptials. Every employee we passed greeted us and was very kind. Highly recommend for a larger event. Couldn’t have been better!

Awesome experience at the Lakehouse in St Joes Mi. Food is wonderful, ambiance and view is wonderful…….and when you arrive ask for Karima for a server. She is awesome. Salmon was fabulous. Dessert of fudge lava divine delicious. Karima will guide you through a wonderful meal. She suggested the salmon and it was spot on.

Great food and atmosphere! Friendly and efficient service. Beautiful location! Will definitely visit again.

This place has a great view of the lake and is right along lake michigan, with that said, this place is awful! The food tastes horrible, the servers ask you if your ready to order food right when you sit down, The crappy food is WAY overpriced! i paid almost $30 dollars for some sludge in a bowl the presentation is bad, if anyone is thinking about going here , id suggest you think to go somewhere else, i wont be returning here!

Wonderful location, terrible food. Will ask you if your ready for your food 30 seconds within sitting down and will leave and then not come back when your food is incorrect. The food presentation was not pretty. Prices for the food quality were horrible considering the lovely atmosphere and overlooking the beautiful lake. I got a mango tacos with no mango and fiancé ordered fresh mango chicken and it looked like vomit.Don’t bother dressing nice to go here, the waiters/waitresses were wearing clothes with gang signs on them. Your food will come out within 5 minutes of ordering and it taste like it. Would’ve spent my money better at Taco Bell. The couple crossed from us received the incorrect order and an older couple next to us didn’t like their food either as we listened to the man say something kindly to the waitress. Again don’t waste your money here even though it’s beautiful to overlook the lake.

We visited St Joseph for 3 days and dined at the Lake House it was next door to our hotel The Holiday Inn Express everything we ordered was delicious the owners and staff were very welcoming. I highly recommend The LakeHouse!

Greetings Lakehouse friends. I'm Karima, a server at the Lakehouse. I started off with Amy, Tracy, Don and beloved Judy and JP. I love you guys and will always cherish our experiences and fun times we shared This is my third time around here. I would love to assure you, the Lakehouse has new management and owners. The new menu is phenomenal. This time around,you may also have a taste of Indian food incorporated as well. They have authentic Indian samosas, butter chicken, mango chicken that is served with rice and Naan bread. Also, everything is seasoned to perfection this time around. The ribeye is 16 ounces and cooked to temperature. We has an soft opening last week. Everyone was highly satisfied. We have had some locals come back that had an terrible experience and was satisfied completely. They're looking forward to dining with us in the future. There also will be an Mother's Day brunch to look forward to in the future and more. I'm excited to serve each of you all with great hospitality and a smile. If you've had an terrible experience, I guaranteed that will never happen again. Our new owners have several successful restaurants in Canada that are striving. I'm looking forward to seeing some of you all back for the summer. Music, great vibes, some of you may remember that i sang from time to time. We are back Lakehouse friends. Also, Lovey is back as the bartender. I Highly recommend 10 stars this time around. I am a chef and caterer. When i say the food is delicious and won't disappoint, that's exactly what i mean friends. Disappointing. I ordered the perch but was served the fish and chips instead. Cod was ok; fries were cold, and slaw was awful. Service was slow and inattentive. I would recommend going somewhere else. There are plenty of better options in the area.

Food was horrible but the server was nice. We got a ribeye and it was loaded with blue cheese. Who puts blue cheese on a good steak. The fries were raw. We had to tell them to cook them crispy.

SERVICE A++ : Husband and I were immediately greeted by all staff.. including the housekeeper. This place is so cozy with a beautiful view of the lake! Perfect Date night spot! We had the mussels and those were good. NY Strip and Perch were also very tasty! Victoria is an Amazing Server! 10 stars! Kept our drinks flowing and gave great recommendations. Happy Hour specials on beer wine and appetizers!

I ordered salmon and beef tip meal. Both taste like hospital food or even worse. No seasoning of flavor at all. The mashed potatoes aren’t even fully mashed.
Beef tips were tough and overcooked. Salmon had literally no seasoning and was cooked poorly.
Additionally, Short ribs are on the menu but they never have them.
Will never return again.
