Great food. Better than a burger any day. I'm not from NOLA but my wife is from the area. Our dog was named Roux (and he was the color to match). The only caveat to this place is that the outside does not do justice to the food inside. Don't drive away before going inside and eating! You will be glad you did.

Hands down the best place for a touch of spice locally. Love their Voodoo chicken.

Best gumbo north of the Mason Dixon line. We had a shrimp po boy and a bowl of gumbo. It's the best I've had since we lived in Baton Rouge. This place is the real deal with fair pricing.

I always order takeout cornbread from them to eat with different meals at home. It is the best I've ever had.

Not sure if the food truck recently in Plainwell is the same as this restaurant so apologies up front if this is misdirected. The red beans I had were honestly the worst food I've paid for in recent memory. They tasted like a can of undrained kidney beans and my wife's bourbon beef was on par with Dinty stew. Toddler smashed the minute rice and cornbread but the rest was an insult to New Orleans. Apologies if the food truck isn't associated with the brick and mortar. Guy working was nice.

Po’ Boy muffaletta was great. Bread tastes fresh, and the royal gumbo is legit! Under $20 for a really tasty lunch that was everything I hoped for in a Cajun place.
