I placed a pick up order tonight was highly disappointed. It was so expensive for a small amount of low quality food. I ordered chicken lo mein and while it was flavorful and tasted good. It did not taste like lo mein. It was like a garlic noodle dish. I love garlic and it did taste good but not what I was expecting when ordering lo mein. We also ordered orange chicken and sweet and sour chicken and we were so disappointed with the quality of the chicken. It was hard and stringy inside, not plump and juicy like our normal chinese takeout location. The orand and sweet and sour sauces were ok nothing special. The egg rolls we ordered were flavorful but not crunchy. It seemed like the egg roll wrapper was too thick and there was not enough cabbage to go with the meat. The amount of meat was great, I just wish there was more vegetables to go with it. It was $54 for 3 meals which is crazy to me. I normally order from tecumseh's oriental sizzling and am able to get 4 larger, better quality meals for $45. My family wanted to try something new but I doubt we will return.

I had almond chicken with fried rice, egg drop soup and one egg. Roll hot tea to drink (they dont serve coffee). The egg roll was overcooked the egg drop soup was just average the almond chicken was as dry as the desert. This was the first time I have dined there. Did I mention how uninviting it is. On 2 dining tables were stacked with empty boxes. No reason for me to go back for a 2nd time.

Joyful House is hands down the best Chinese food not only in Saline but in the greater Ann Arbor area. My family gets the same takeout order at least one night a month. Our relatives from out of town always want Joyful House when they come to visit! The food is always pretty expensive per dish but worth it. Every other local Chinese restaurants' dishes are bland and service is poor compared to Joyful House. Once you taste it you'll never want Chinese from anywhere else!

Friendly and tasty food. While it's not very authentic this place has higher quality food compared to other places in saline (it's not greasy and the cuts of meat lower grade pieces of fat). Staff is incredibly friendly and efficient. This is my family's go to place for take out.

I have ordered food from the Joyful House 4 or 5 times. Today's meal and the last one were not something I would recommend to anyone.
Joyful House is just great. Always the best food. I skip past three other Chinese places (that I’ve already tested) to go here. The family loves it! The lemon chicken, beef and broccoli, chicken fried rice, pork dumplings, egg rolls, and crab Rangoon are all delicious. I ate most of the dumplings before I remembered to take a picture of them, LOL.

My friend and I were here Tuesday, 3/12/2024. This is the best food I've had in a very long time. We chatted with Judy, and she told us of her & her husband's homelands. She was so nice. I will come here again. I don't get to Saline much, but if I do, this is my place to eat. I had the Sweet & Sour Chicken. Also love their egg rolls.
