It was a Saturday night, karaoke night. "Fun" I thought to myself fun. SO, instead of pointing out the negative, and having managed my fair share of bars throughout my career, I'll say the following: Bars are supposed to be dimly lit. Next, being one of the two bars nearby, I would make an effort to have enough feeding for all the patrons. Rather than having half of the bar completely empty,, leaving patrons to assume that's where they should stand, I would recommend putting any pool table or a dartboard or two. I would also and many many more tables for patience to sit at as they drink.
