Asked for general chicken spicy with extra sauce. Not spicy and no extra sauce.rice was dry not very good.will go somewhere else for now on went to family fare deli and got a spicy general chicken a week later that was hot and better

I genuinely don’t understand how this place has such high ratings. I remember when I was younger, Chinese food actually had flavor. To be completely honest, the food here was so bland that we won’t be coming back. The rice was mushy, and it seemed like they didn’t even add salt to the water while cooking it. I make better Chinese food at home, and I'm a white girl ?
The young girl at the front counter seemed inexperienced. She wasn’t rude, but she acted like this might be her first job—maybe 16 years old—and she didn’t speak loudly enough. When I asked her simple questions about the menu (and whether I could get a cup of water for my 2-year-old), her response was “uhhh... I don’t know” to everything. It seemed to overwhelm her, even though no other customers were there. It felt awkward when she kept staring at us while we were trying to read the menu taped to the counter. They had to send another girl to the back to find a cup, and she came out with one that was clearly not for customer use. It’s obvious the restaurant isn’t prepared to provide basic things like small plastic cups for water, and they should be. There were no straws, and with only two tables, the place felt cramped, like it was set up mainly for takeout.
But honestly, the biggest issue was the food. It was completely lacking in flavor. The egg drop soup tasted like nothing, and we ended up throwing it away after just a few bites. The only redeeming item was the crab rangoon, which was very good—but since it’s clearly not made in-house, I can’t give them much credit for it.
If you're looking for better food and atmosphere, I’d recommend ‘Three Happiness’ on Alpine. I don’t mean to sound like a Karen, but it feels like people’s standards have seriously dropped, like everyone is handing out 5-star reviews just to avoid hurting anyone’s feelings.

One of the cleanest kitchens and dining rooms I have ever witnessed at a Chinese restaurant! Food is always correct, hot, and tasty! Crab rangoon is the best around! Prices are average but for the portion size a good value
