We enjoyed the food so much both times we have eaten here! The food is so fresh and flavors are bold and authentic. We loved the steak tacos Churrasco, Guarnachas, burrito and Guatemalan enchiladas. Empanadas were a special last time and were amazing too! Great service.
OVERPRICED for the portion sizes you receive.
I don't know how a family can afford to eat here, honestly. The portions are on the small side and they charge for everything, even lettuce and cheese on my son's tacos ($13 for 3 "street tacos" and no sides, JUST three tacos). My shredded beef chimichanga had burnt pieces of roast in it, and they charged $3 extra to put some queso on top. Anywhere else, and the queso is already included in the price of the chimi. The chimichanga (with rice and so-so refried beans was a whopping $17....$20 with a glaze of queso on the chimi).
For my family of four, visiting at 3pm on a Saturday afternoon for the first time EVER, it cost me $92. We didn't have leftovers to take home and even had to ask for more chips because we were still hungry after finishing our meals.
They also charge 3% - 3.5% to use a debit or credit card, even though the bill was already nearly $100. So if you are unaware, it's wiser to bring cash with you to eat here unless you like paying surprise fees.
I'm really surprised this place has good reviews...it must be for the richer class folks. Or people trying to impress a date. I can't afford to bring my family back here. It wasn't that special of an experience for me to feel good about spending $100 on a casual Saturday lunch.

Cute little place. Menu looked very appealing but didn't live up to the descriptions. Daughter got The churrasco steak. Never asked how she wanted it prepared and it came out like leather. The black beans were delicious though. I got the Kaxlan chicken. It was pretty good. Very small pieces but was tasty. I enjoyed the plantains. The margarita was terrible. 2 sips was all we could do. Server was not attentive or friendly at all. After delivering food, she didn't return to check on us until she came to ask if we wanted anything else. She returned to drop off check and said she would meet us at the register. Waited over 10 minutes at the counter. Another server came up and helped us finally while on her cell phone. Overall very disappointed.

Excellent food and service!! Our waitress was so sweet and very helpful with describing the dishes as neither of us are too familiar with Guatemalan food. First time here and we will for sure go back. Love finding authentic places like this!

Ixcanul is a regular date night for my wife and me. We have NEVER had a bad meal. From the Guatemalan churrasco to the shrimp tacos, everything is delicious! By the way, if you go on a Friday or Saturday, be sure to try any of his specials, you won’t be disappointed!

We got lunch, my food was very good, but the other 2 people had bland meals. And for lunch it was a long wait and had to go get water. The size of the meals were a bit small for the price as well. The building was decorated nicely though.

This was our first time dining here with our children. We had the tacos with grilled chicken, pupusas, children had tacos with steak and chicken variations. The rice was moist and full of flavor.
This is an upscale spot for a real Mexican and Guatemalan palate experience - if you dare!!
It's delicious ?

I've visited for dinner 4 times in the last year and have always enjoyed a delicious meal and great service. We primarily order from the Guatemalan side of the menu, though I'm guessing the Mexican side is just as good. We've tried the Kalxan Chicken, Churrasco(?) steak, Papusas and all the sides. We really like the rice, refried black beans, fried sweet plantains and guacamole. My companion has had their Tres Leches cake twice and said it's a winner. The sangria is excellent. It's a generous serving, has great flavor, plenty of fruit and packs a punch!
Our servers have been pleasant and competent each time. The owner has visited our table, and every other table in the restaurant, to say hello and ask about our experience at every visit. It's both an unexpected and appreciated gesture on his part, especially considering he's clearly a working owner.
