There is nothing like Tubby's steak and cheese. A true Detroit classic.
Listen, I understand everything is more expensive these days.. but 3 slices of meat on an entire sub is ridiculous. Charge more if you have too, I’ve always loved tubbys but nobody wants to eat basically bread with sauce.
I've been eating Tubby's since I was a kid. It's been a few months since I had a sub from there and I just had a craving. Unfortunately it'll be my last time I choose Tubby's. The large classic at $13+ tax had so little meat in it that it looked like a grilled cheese. The steak and cheese with a price tag of $15+ tax had about the same amount of meet that my wife's small sub had in it. I understand that prices go up but the quality doesn't need to go down.
Was first to order last to get food, ordered steak chz and turkey club cold. Turkey club was missing items, smfh
Always great service. Very polite, clean and professional. Kristy the owner has a great team!
The tubby 's famous large sub is not worth the 12.$ they charge, very little meat, lettuce and tomatoes

The first Tubby’s - 1968
It was my first time at this location, it a small place but all the workers work as a team and got my order done in no time. And the food was cooked just right.

What happened to this place?...Very few Tubby Chain restaurants make a decent sub these days. This place isn't one of them anymore. It's like they turned into a Taco Bell. A $13 sub with a couple of spoon fulls of garbage meat on a mediocre bun is not the Tubbys I remember. I can't see Tubbys lasting another generation of patrons.
