Their food was hot and fresh! The serving sizes haven't changed at all and the price was right! Who doesn't like a AW float , fries, onion rings and a great burger.
Nothing like A&W root beer in a frosty mug from the restaurant. Much better flavor than can or bottle.

I used to really love coming to this A&W, but it has been on a steady decline over the last year or so. My last visit here was on 10/5/24. We sat inside since I had a trailer connected to my truck and couldn't pull into an outside dining spot. As we sat inside waiting on service, we watched 2 other tables get up and leave, making remarks about a long wait time. We sat for 10 minutes after pressing the bell to let them know we were ready to order. When I finally thought we were about to have our order taken, we watched the waitress take the orders of 2 other tables that had come in after us. As we were about to leave as well, our order was finally taken. The food didn't take too long to come out after that. The money dogs were good, but my wife's chicken tenders were very rubbery and luke warm at best. She only took a couple of bites before deciding that she wasn't going to eat them. After we paid the bill and left, about 10 minutes later, my wife was feeling sick from it. We've loved stopping here on our way home from up north for years. We had a good run, but I can't see us coming here anymore.

They are extremely friendly and understanding. Food is so tasty that it's become one of my favorite stops, especially for the fried mushrooms. Eating here is a whole new experience.

The hamburger was tasteless. The chili did not taste the same. The root beer was different. The staff was very unorganized. It was a favorite place to stop in the past. We dined in and got our roo beer in foam carrying out cups.

Went here mid day, was busy but found a spot pretty quick. Service was good and fast. We ordered deep fried mushrooms and onion rings these were really good. We also had the Coney dogs which were not good at all. For the price I would not go back.
Employees behind the counter complained the entire time we were there about how terrible the owner is and how everyones leaving now that the general manager and district manager are gone. Sounds like this owner needs to learn how to treat and value their employees and they will give better service. Was a huge educational moment for my teens but a terrible dining experience.
My wife and I were taking a trip home from the UP, and I wanted to treat her to some A&W, and she was game for it. And feeling nostalgic, I missed the days of the carhops on skates (even Sonic had discontinued that in the recent years with most of their restaurants), and I told my wife about the last A&W that was in Detroit and how I’d go there before going shopping at a suburban mall ten minutes from there (the restaurant eventually shut down and moved to the mall).
But seeing this restaurant in Standish, MI had brought back lots of memories. Especially the draft root beer! Nobody does it better than Allen & Wright. These are one of the few fast food franchises that will give you your money’s worth when it comes to their product! And the server? Sorry, the lady’s name escapes me right now, but if she’s up for a promotion, please consider her for it!
Parking: More than enough depending on what time you get there.
