Felt like a burger & a game today. Decided to try the Halfway Bar & Grill for the 1st time, based on my neighbor's recommendation. Cozy atmosphere with windows looking out to the Cedar River, good music, prompt & friendly service. Chelsea went above & beyond to try to get an out of area game on for me. Ordered a Bloody Mary & the burger special with their homemade fries. Everything was delicious. Martha, the Chef, came out & explained that they can also do gluten free & vegan options upon request, which is great info for future reference. This is my new favorite spot! So happy to discover the Halfway Bar & Grill!

We’ve had a cabin in Cedar River for 12 years, and we couldn’t be happier that Chelsea became the owner of the Halfway Bar & Grill! She has taken such pride in upgrading both the food and the atmosphere—it truly shows. The Friday fish fry is a must-try, and the burgers… my goodness, yum! The chef is incredibly creative (you’ll understand after just one bite of the burgers). Be sure to check out the chalkboard specials on the weekend, and don’t miss the secret dinners on the last Monday of every month—it’s worth every penny!

The fried chicken sandwich here completely blew me away. I've had chicken sandwiches all over the country and this was the best fried chicken sandwich I've ever had. I had a side salad with the sandwich that was excellent as well. All the ingredients were very fresh, and the portions were large. $13.00 for this quality of a sandwich - no brainer

What a cute little place! And the perch basket was AMAZING! Everything was homemade! The coleslaw and tartar sauce was so fresh, delicious fresh cut fries and lightly breaded perch! We were camping and needed a break from grilling, so glad we did! We will definitely make this a must stop on all adventures to the UP

We haven’t dined in for a couple of years, and were so glad it worked to stop on our trip! Delicious burgers and hand cut fries, the pickled cherry jam burger is in my top 3 burgers of all time - that combo with the goat cheese was amazing! Great service and atmosphere, highly recommend! We will definitely be back!
