I can absolutely say on Tuesday June 23, this is My 1st and last review for this famous Italian restaurant in Sterling Heights, "Andiamo" because it is closing and demolition will be next as well.I was excited to choose this Italian restaurant back on Saturday May 30 to participate in another fun dining event called "Yelp's Big Night In 2.0" due to the COVID-19. I was not aware until last week while reading the local Macomb Daily newspaper, that only this location is closing out of their 8 Andiamo locations in the Metropolitan Detroit."What a Great 16 years of memories for families, couples and other diners who walked in the doors here to celebrate a special occasion with vintage wine, hand made appetizers, excellent entrees and sweet desserts!" History: Andiamo Sterling Heights, which has been a landmark eatery since it opened here in 2004 on Hall Road in front of Lakeside Mall, did serve its final homemade pasta dish via curbside and carryout on Father's Day according the newspaper. Joe Vicari head of the Joe Vicari Restaurant Group sold the property in September 2017. The building will be demolished and a new development agent has approved the site plan for the new Portillo's.During the month of May and up to closing, Andiamo was offering their "BOGO" special which caught my eye and taste buds online when reading their menu. What a tasty way to try two different entrees along with soup or salad which was included.I placed my order on the phone with Alexandra or Alex and was able to mix and match the BOGO entrees based on the price of $24.95.My 1st choice was their famous "Lasagna" made with thin delicate layers of homemade pasta, besciamella and bolognese sauces topped with mozzarella cheese & parmesan cheese. It was accompanied with soup or salad so I decided on the house salad and dressing on the side of course. "FREE ENTREE"My 2nd choice was "Chicken and Prosciutto Pasta" which contained peas, white wine cream sauce, onions, rosemary with egg & spinach linguine noodles. My choice was their special recipe soup called Chicken Brodo with vegetables and pasta.$24.95 = This was Worth the price for such a large container. Plus I had Leftovers.Alex was very professional and helpful on the phone without a rush. She suggested a hot loaf of baguette bread that was being offered for a low price of $4.00 to compliment my meal and go along with the occasion of dine in. Of course I said Yes to add on. When I paid with a credit card over the phone she asked Me if I wanted to add my tip or in person. I added 20% on with no fuss and I also tipped the delivery/employee as well for his speed of service in the parking lot. Due to the pandemic it was worth the kindness, since many young students have been without a job or laid off due to many food businesses being closed. He was very surprised to receive it and I'm sure he was smiling under his mask for my generosity of a $10.00 tip. :-) When I asked her about the dessert choices she replied only 2 which was Tuxedo a chocolate mousse or cannolis at $2.00 each. Since there was only 4 of the cannolis left at 5:00 pm I decided to buy all of the last 4. Unfortunately I'm sorry to complain and comment here which I never do since I am a Helper Yelper not a whiner or a constant complainer to get free food.... The cannoli shells were mushy not fresh and crunchy. The inside chocolate chips were great but the filling had a sandy and gritty taste.Carryout results: I arrived 15 minutes early in the parking lot and only waited 5 minutes for my goodie bag of food. The speed of the employee working was quick and he was very polite as well with his job. My food entrees were packed tight so no leaks and my food order was still hot when I arrived home. The soup container double bag on it. The salad container also tightly wrapped and the house dressing was on the side. The baguette bread double plastic wrapped and foiled for the trip.I was very pleased and satisfied with this eatery

I ordered takeout on Friday and I haven't had good takeout experiences (except Texas Roadhouse). We haven't ate at Andiamo's in years anyways I saw a commercial and it looked good. We ordered from the grab and go menu and chose the Beef Tenderloin option. They brought it to my car so that was nice I didn't have to go in. Needless to say it was so worth the money and it was not that expensive! The beef tenderloin was so tender and the potatoes and green beans were delicious!! The bread was still warm when I got home. I definitely recommend to order their carryout!! They definitely didnt disappoint! Please go and support them!!

Andiamo's was not prepared for Easter Sunday and did give information regarding advance orders for the steak special. We were told that no orders would be accepted before noon on Sunday and at 12:30 on Sunday we were told they star6accepting orders at 4 on Saturday and were sold out. At 12:30 they would not accept any carry out orders.

honestly, I'm hoping that the quality of food is only bc they ran out of ingredients due to the COVID-19 restrictions and not bc they are cutting fresh ingredients. I ordered the Chicken and Prosciutto Pasta on Saturday (BOGO) for dinner for us and it is typically my favorite dish! However, instead of fresh peas, which adds a bright note to this warm dish, they used canned. All I could taste in this dish was canned peas. Please bring back the fresh ingredients. Even frozen would have been better than canned.

We were extremely disappointed when visiting this Andiamo's. We are trying to help restaurants out during this Coronavirus outbreak. We ordered online and was told the order would take 25 minutes, no problem. When we arrived they only allowed 1 person in at a time, so I went in and paid. They said my order wasn't quite ready, wait outside and and would be out in a few minutes. WELL, time was ticking by so I asked the manager how much longer, he said he would check. Nothing! After asking the third time he got "snippy" with me. He is comment. "I am not the cook." FINALLY, he comes out and said 5 minutes. Wait a minute, 45 minutes had passed!! A very nice employee finally brought it out, an hour later and apologized. We took the order home and guess what, the WHOLE order was wrong. I understand that these are trying times but to be rude to your customer is uncalled for. We are trying to support the business and this is how we are treated?? Trust me, we will be passing the word along and if the business fails, we know we tried. There are plenty of restaurants that would appreciate the opportunity.

Ribeye was fantastic. Grilled perfectly, tender and flavorful. Zip sauce is always delicious. Portabella cream soup was amazing; creamy, earthy and slightly peppery.

Our server was super kind and was willing to help us understand a menu because we were not familiar with Italian fish names. And her suggestion of blackened chicken on the fettuccine Alfredo was perfect, It fit so well with the dish. Delicious dinner and great service. It was so go I cleaned my plate.

As you will read, the Warren location has much better tasting food than this location. I ordered penne with meat sauce and the penne was overcooked. I have eaten this at the Warren location a few dozens times and never had this issue. Also, the bread you brought to the table wasn't hot, like it is at the Warren location. My wife and I both ordered wedding soup and it was not very hot which kind of concerns me as that is not safe.

Wonderful employees. Not my favorite location but not bad at all.

The waitress was wonderful. The food didn't live up to it's reputation. The manager and the chef should've been out at our table apologizing and offering a free meal for the steel wire found in my son's food. Instead they offered free desert.

Been waiting 15 minutes for my table to be cLeared. It's silly. I wiring for management to clear table...follow uup: We stayed for dinner after waiting. Food was delicious and really nice gluten free options (rolls were yummy!) Our waiter was very attentive, kind and helped rescue the night. Thanks to the experience we will return
