We stopped at iFreeze in early August excited to celebrate a birthday with a treat. We saw the great reviews and wanted to try it.
The positives:
The ice cream itself was very good, and the staff were friendly and apologetic when mistakes happened.
The challenges:
We were told our order would take 10–15 minutes, but it ended up being about 35-45 minutes.
My wife’s vegan order was made incorrectly at first, and while the staff remade it right away, it added more time.
My milkshake came in a different cup because they had run out of milkshake cups, which meant I couldn’t take it to go without spilling.
Between the errors and slow pace, what should have been a quick stop stretched to just over an hour.
This made things stressful since we had our 2-month-old with us, who was overtired by the time we left and a lot of work to keep calm during the long wait. We also inadvertently overstayed our paid parking since we didn't realize how long we'd been made to stay. This distressingly resulted in a ticket that was later (thankfully) dismissed by the court.
I also want to note that I reached out directly to the owner via email to ask them to help make things right before coming here to leave this review. Reaching out to them via email was something they asked (really, distastefully demanded, see for yourself) other reviewers to do before posting publicly. I did so, but I never received a reply despite a few email follow-ups.
Overall, while the ice cream was tasty and frontline staff was friendly, the long wait, order issues, and lack of follow-up from management left a very disappointing impression and thoroughly tainted a birthday celebration. If you plan to visit, my experience is that you should expect that your order may take much longer than you’re told it will.

I visited their booth at Arts Beats and Eats. Wow! So much fun and really nice guys! I didn’t realize they were so close to us. We will definitely be back! The Dubai ice cream was amazing and my son loved the dragon’s breath.

I thought this place was going to be mid because the logo looks a little instagram showey, but you guys it is so good!! Actually really high quality and really great flavors. It’s freshly made ice cream from nitrogen. It’s the kind of business RO has needed :)

We love iFreeze! We took our daughter who has Celiac Disease. They have items marked as gluten free on the menu. She had the S’mores ice cream and loved it. They were very knowledgeable about Celiac and cleaned the machines before use. They keep all GF items separated as well. It’s so important to us to have safe places for our daughter to eat and have dessert. Would recommend iFreeze to anyone!

I stopped by recently and was surprised to experience a wait of over 10 minutes, even though there were hardly any other customers there. The service felt slow given how quiet it was. That said, the ice cream itself was good—flavorful and creamy, worth trying (once). I just wish the service had matched the quality of the product.
Update: After leaving this review, the business owner responded in a surprisingly hostile and dismissive way. My intention was to offer honest feedback in a respectful tone. I appreciate that small businesses have off days, but I was taken aback by the tone of their response. I hope this is not reflective of how they usually treat customer concerns.
I recently visited iFreeze Creamery in Royal Oak and had a fantastic experience. Their creme brulee ice cream was a highlight, with a rich texture and perfectly caramelized sugar. I also enjoyed the pistachio flavor with honey roasted almonds, which had a nice balance of flavors. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and the shop had a welcoming atmosphere. Prices were reasonable for the quality and quantity of the ice cream. Overall, I'd definitely recommend iFreeze to anyone looking for a great ice cream spot. The flavors are unique and delicious, and the service is top-notch. It's a great spot to grab a sweet treat!
