Growing up part Lebanese and Syrian I was basically raised on this type of food, so I know what I like, and my expectations were high. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and our waitress Kylie was outstanding. For drinks I ordered a Manhattan, and my friend had a Spicey Margarita. Both were strong and delicious. For our Appetizers we had the Calamari which was super crispy and came with an amazing sliced tomato sauce. Of course I had to get a taste of everything so the Vegetarian Plate was an absolute must. It came with so many different food items and even just the presentation alone was gorgeous. My favorites were the fried Falafel which was super flavorful, crispy, but not dry at all like many can be from other places, the Baba Ghanouge was fantastic, and the Hummus which was so smooth and some of the best I’ve had. Hot bread was provided as well for dipping. Now if I’m completely honest, I did not care for the Veggie Grape Leaves or the Fattoush Salad. The salad seemed a little soggy and the flavors just kind of blended together, and the Grape Leaves had much too strong of a lemon/garlic type of taste that was way too overpowering. For our Entrees I decided on the Kibbeh Niyeh (raw lamb), which was very fresh and a large portion for the price. My friend decided to mix it up and try the Chicken Florentine. I wasn’t sure a predominantly Middle Eastern style restaurant could deliver on a dish like that, but not only was the portion huge, the flavor and quality is like one you’d find at a nice Italian restaurant. I was very surprised. For Dessert we of course had to try the Tiramisu. Each bite nearly had our eyes rolling to the back of our heads. It was light but flavorful, and each bite just melted in your mouth. If you’re in the mood for good Mediterranean, I highly recommend checking this place out!

As a recent bride, I feel compelled to share my harrowing experience with Ikes to warn anyone who is considering planning an event here of the absolute nightmare that awaited me on what was supposed to be one of the happiest days of my life. From the moment I began planning my wedding shower at this establishment, it was a cascade of disappointment, frustration, arguing and disrespect.Let's start with the event planner, Stephanie, who was not only unhelpful but downright rude. From the get-go, she displayed a dismissive attitude, making me feel like an inconvenience rather than a valued customer. The level of unprofessionalism was astounding. She knit picked every single thing and was unwilling to work with me because I am a vegetarian. I literally had to fight her on getting myself served a vegetarian option. On the morning of my shower, the tables were adorned with yellow-stained, dirty, and wrinkled tablecloths. My bridesmaids had to scramble to purchase replacement tablecloths on the morning of to replace the restaurants table cloths because they were told “it’s all they had.”My guests were left waiting for over an hour past the scheduled time for their meals. The incompetence and lack of regard for my guests' experience were beyond comprehension. To top it all off, when I voiced my concerns to Stephanie after the event, I was met with a dismissive remark: "I've never seen a shower go so fast, that’s why the food was late". Even though, she literally told me I HAD to be out of there in 3 hours. It’s a shame that they have the rudest person I have ever dealt with running the event planning, because I do enjoy the food, but I will never give a dime to Ikes again. I DO NOT recommend.

We were a group of 4 and all enjoyed our lunch. The portions were substantial. The service was great! The server was patient and attentive. The atmosphere was perfect, as we were able to talk and be heard by each other. I will gladly return to this restaurant!

Attended a baby shower recently. Brunch was phenomenal! Service was excellent. Attended a bridal shower last year. Food and service were rated a 10+. Cannot give a better rating for quality and quantity of scrumptious food. Waiters and waitresses were courteous and helpful. Can't wait to go back to try out the actual restaurant.

I love the food and service at Ike's. The staff are always professional and keep right on top of what you're doing what you need and come to ask how you're doing. It was late on a Sunday night. On our way home from an event in downtown Detroit and not many places are open but we went along van Dyke Road and I remembered Ike's. lucky for my memory, because it turned out to be one of the most awesome restaurants we could have stopped at along the way. I decided to try something different and off of the vegetarian menu I ordered Mjadra which is a lentil dish and was absolutely delicious if you like lentils. It came with soup salad, and always pita bread. I selected the lentil soup to go along with my lentil dinner, and it was a lemon lentil soup, which was unique. For the salad, you get many choices, and I chose tabouli. The servings were huge so needless to say I had plenty of food to carry out and eat the next day for a meal. My friend ordered the smothered chicken dinner, and he got the beef barley soup and a salad with raspberry vinaigrette, which he said was one of the tastiest raspberry vinaigrette dressings he's ever had So all in all, we had a wonderful experience, and walked out of there with full bellies and a big carry out bag. I suggested to my friend that maybe next time we would split a meal because they are so huge and with the soup and salad and pita bread it's just over the top.
