As a regular customer, I’ve been ordering from this place for over five and a half years, if not longer. Unfortunately, enough is enough. I’ve reached a point where I regret almost everything I’ve ordered. While the customer service is good, the food quality has become very, very poor. After all these years of being a loyal customer, I can honestly say I would not recommend this place at all, and I will not be returning.

We ordered a combo for 5 there was plenty of food but my god it was all charred and so over done and dry. We could only eat about 10 percent of it and threw the rest away. It a waste of 80 dollars

Ishtar Restaurant is absolutely beautiful—elegant, well-decorated, and truly feels like a special dining experience. As an Iraqi, it genuinely made me happy to see our culture and cuisine represented in such a classy way. The food was good and well-presented, though some dishes were a bit on the bland side for my personal taste. The main reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the price. It’s very expensive, and the fact that tips start at $14 feels excessive and honestly a bit off-putting. That said, the atmosphere, service, and overall experience were still great. I’d definitely recommend it for a special occasion or for anyone wanting to experience Iraqi food in an upscale setting.

Five stars for the food, it’s genuinely good and worth trying. The prices are on the higher side, which I usually don’t mind, but with that comes the expectation of attentive, flexible service. Unfortunately, the service didn’t match the quality of the food.
My friend wanted to substitute a different salad for her meal and was willing to pay extra, but they refused outright. Even when we suggested a reasonable workaround, they still said no, which felt unnecessarily rigid. The waitress also seemed very inexperienced and easily flustered, which made the situation more frustrating.
At least one item on the bill was priced higher than what was listed on the menu. When I pointed this out to the waitress and asked her to check the menu, she ignored me and walked away.
Poor service is the number one reason I won’t return to a restaurant. I can eat good food at home, but I go out specifically for the service and the experience. The food here is excellent, but the service and handling of simple requests and billing issues made the visit far more frustrating than it should have been.

The. Worst experience yesterday at your restaurant, they put the food down on our table. They never asked if we need dressing for our food. He just left. He never has like five minutes later or nothing if you guys want drinks or nothing and then y’all was confused when we was trying to see if our friend paid or not you guys had to look for your waitress That is not acceptable As a restaurant, you guys need to be on top of everything. The food was cold as well, and the bread was cold too. $68 for Shawarma sandwich and a couple fries is unacceptable. You guys need to do better if you guys wanna charge for that food has to be good. Again, you guys need to do better
