Place was very busy but the staff was very courteous and friendly so I would highly recommend this restaurant. I had to wait some time for my order but the staff members offered me drinks just for me having the patience to wait and that was totally appreciated. Also the food is excellent I had everything from breakfast to the lunch menu and other items and never was disappointed.

Went for lunch. Waited over 30 minutes for 2 kids meals and a hani, and that was after flagging down the waitress. People who were seated 15 minutes after us got their food before us. Had to get the waitress's attention for everything, including the bill. Will not be back.

Horrible!! Three of us went for lunch on Tuesday, Jan -1. The place was busy and we seated ourselves. The orders placed were a small hani, chicken sandwich and a loose coney with fries. The Hani came out, then the chicken sandwich and then the coney last. We had to ask for it! How hard is it to throw hamburger in a bun and throw some chili on it? I guess 15 minutes. Hmm . We finally were able to start eating together. Then, it happened! We detected fruit flies in our waters. Fruit flies all in our food! . We asked for a manager and there wasn't one available. One waitress came by and said she guessed she was the acting manager. She did comp our table but proceeded to tell us next time we come back, not to sit by the kitchen ( which we were right by the swinging doors) that the vegetables were kept by the door and that's where the bugs were coming from! Are you kidding me??? She just basically told us that the kitchen was full of bugs! Oh never ever again going to 14/Dequindre National Coney Island.. first time there and definitely the last. YUCK!!!!

Not white tablecloth dining but delicious food! When I come to NCI I always get a chili dog and bowl of chili. I confess as a Detroit native nothing is more home to me than eating at NCI.

Why does this location only have 2.5 stars? We've been here one other time, a few years ago. I remember it was packed that day. Today, maybe half the dining room tables are full. Quick service by friendly staff. Seat yourself and find a menu right on the table. Our waitress, DC, took great care of us. We brought grandma with us. Three of us ordered coney dogs. Two of us ordered a bowl of chili no beans with diced white onions. One order of onion rings (save your money and don't order these flavorless and not very crunchy), one Oreo milkshake. One ordered fish and chips with coleslaw. We all drank water. If you've never eaten a Kiegel's hotdog you are missing out. These make a pop when you bite into them as they are made in natural casings. Served on a warm, soft bun with a heavy ladle of chili no beans and topped with mustard and diced white onions. We all left satisfied and very full. One thing to note: I watched a young waitress make someone's milkshake (we thought it was for our table. It wasn't) she filled the large glass container and topped it with cream. Took the milkshake to the back counter possibly for delivery by another tables waitress. A few minutes later, this same young waitress came back to the milkshake station and poured the remainder of the milkshake into a small cup, put in a lid and added a straw. Through the mirrored wall at the end of our side of the dining room I watched her drink this herself! What? If there was that much leftover, it should have been offered to the person who paid for the milkshake! Thankfully she wasn't our waitress. She looks young and bored to be working there.

There is nothing more I love than a coney dog. I will tell you the one thing i don't love. I don't love it when our waitress comes over & looks like she's been on a meth bender for a week and reeks of stale cigarettes. Thats just what i want to smell before eating. Other than that, the food was great!!

Had a tuna fish sandwich and there was a 1/2 a cup of tuna on it, no fries was $6.95..Smallest portion ever, will never return.

Awesome customer service on a Saturday morning... one waitress doing everything, 2 cooks and the place is full. Placed my order, show up 15 minutes later. About 5 minutes after arriving I finally get spoken to "picking up or placing order". 15 minutes later, no visual of my food even close to being packaged up and no a peep from any employee. I'm fine with a place being understaffed and busy, I guess what finally made me walk out was hearing the waitress taking orders telling people "give us 10 minutes" when they are clearly extremely behind. Placed my order in the car and 10 minutes later now I'm just picked up my order at RedHots Coney Island down the street. Will not be coming back to National

Kinda like Dennys, nothing special but good for what it is. It wouldn't be a place id see myself frequenting, but would go again. I had the Patty melt and fries and it was a 3rd lb burger on grilled the bread. The service was fast friendly and attentive. Overall it was a pleasant experience.

Great waitress but the food was f****** nasty there was a hair inside the fries and the club sandwich fell apart. The pen also wasn't working.

Place was nice but the food wasnt great. I ordered a burger for $8 and it didnt even come with a side. The burger wasnt even that good and she messed up my order. The waffle fries were good but other than that id give a good 2 stars.

The parking lot seems to always be full, but this Coney Island actually isn't. Why's that you ask? There's an unmarked business/organization next door with paper on the windows, and loads of people go in and out of there. It used to be a Dolca Vita I believe. I have no idea what's going on there, but this has been happening for a couple years now from what I recall. So if you insist on going to this Coney Island still, don't let the parking lot dissuade you. The place isn't too bad for a coney and fries, but skip the breakfast. I've gotten their breakfast special for the first and last time. The hash had a weird off flavor to it like they don't clean the grill. And the toast was slathered with butter to the point where it was hard to get down. The butter had a weird flavor to it too. Just how do you mess up toast? Overall the place seems to be clean in the dining area and I've always had good service. It's just that the food gave me some unpleasant feelings last time I ordered. The bacon, sausage, and eggs were fine, but the taters and toast were just nasty.

I love that they have little holes in the top of their carry out lids that keep your pick up order from getting soggy. That reason alone puts this place ahead of all other coney islands in the area.
