Good food at a good price; nice, friendly staff, clean, a nice place to bring the family or friends. The reuben was very good. I'll be back on Friday for the fish fry.Friday: We returned for the fish fry. I got half Cod and half the other kind of fish (I forget the name). BEST COD FRY IN SW Michigan!!! It was delicious and all you can eat!!! ALSO, they have the BEST COLESLAW in SW Michigan!!!! No kidding. We will be back..Saturday: We were in Grand Rapids and stopped by Bonefish Grill to have an early dinner at 4:30pm. Not only were they booked (the hostess was a snot), it had at least an hour and a half wait. No way.. So we drove home and stopped by Woodies for Dinner. Nice table with no wait with a friendly smile. I got the following:Tempura Shrimp: 10 huge lightly battered shrimp that tasted so fresh I swear they just dipped them out of the Gulf of Mexico.Tater Tots: Crunchy, hot, and delicious.Coleslaw: Best in SW Michigan. Maybe the world. I don't know. I don't get out that much.Garlic Bread: Yummy. Goes nice with the shrimp.Ice Cold Miller Lite: Need I say more?Desert:Deep Fried Twinkie: OMG, was that good!!!! Unbelievable!! You got to try it.Deep Fried Oreos: (see Deep Fried Twinkie for review)In closing, I would like to just say that Woodies Tavern is the best kept secret in our area. I almost hate to post such a grand review because if people read this and start going there, as they should, Woodies might get too busy and I might not get a table when I go there. So don't go there. Just kidding. You should go there.
