Sam’s Italian Restaurant

I wish people would stop thinking this place is good. I’m sure the samaritos are good. However, this is the first place in my entire life I didn’t eat my meal. I ordered chicken Parmesan.. it was like a microwaved chicken breast with sauce and cheese. We politely paid and tipped out server.. but we live down the road and will never be back. I love to support local.. but this is NOT it.

Comfortable family place that's been around since 1974 serving up tasty Italian dishes and pizza a little West of I-75 just South of Flint. Large parking lot. Great for couples, family or groups with 3 separate dining rooms. Good pizza ( I'm a Chicagoan who knows good pies) and great Italian dishes featuring a zesty marinara and plenty of cheese. Especially like their baked pasta dishes which are served in generous sized portions at reasonable prices and are accompanied by either soup or salad. Another plus is a fair assortment of craft beers on tap. Can't comment on desserts as even taking leftovers home, we're always too full to order any.

Food was good, Samoritos(seem like a deep fried breadstick) are great, kids devoured them.

Nice out of the way place to eat. The prices are fair and the food is quite tastie

Stromboli is by far the best I've ever had and priced reasonably for the sizes.

After telling our waitress about loosing our home in Florida Helena flooding. The management picked up our check. How nice was that.!!!! No other place would have done this. Hats off to Sams.

I love Sam's. I just wish they would go back to the old sauce. Had a little bit of a kick to it and it was great. Now the sauce is a bit bland.

Great for catering, or events used them for my mom's after funeral dinner and it went well but went a month later for just a date our bill came out to more than what menu prices were with tax included, spent about a 3rd of what i paid to cater for 50 for just 2 people over 2.50 for a small thing of extra sauce, only got our drinks refilled once, not to mention they added a convince fee? She said it was for charge cards, we didn't use a charge card, we used debit, and had initially planned to pay with cash but switched once we saw the bill our server treated us like we were beneath her and a nuisance for asking for extra sauce the once, we rarely saw her wich was probably for the best since she clearly had a issue with us, we still left a 25% tip (we definitely shouldnt have from the service) but hopefully she'll treat people better next time and not judge people. I personally really like the samoritos and used to love going here as a kid, but I don't hink I'll honestly ever go back after my last experience.

It's just a great all-around establishment. I've been coming here since 1975, the pizza is the best, and it has never changed! The spaghetti with meatballs, lasagna, and antipasto salad just to name a few!
