LIVE BAIT (oyster bar)

So sorry to say the food wasn’t great because the service was pretty good and it’s a cute new place. The fries and calamari were tasty to start with. My lobster roll was unfortunately dry. It’s also Connecticut style but it still had mayo on it? The lobster was overcooked, the bread was also not very soft like it should be and it wasn’t really buttery. Half of my husband’s oyster po boy sandwich had two small pieces of oyster on it (it also came with tomato which we asked about when we ordered and they said it didn’t). The clams in my chowder were pretty rubbery and the soup was overall creamy but mealy. Really bummed for the price we paid.

We had a great first experience at Live Bait / Goomah—two restaurants in one, with the option to order from both menus. Live Bait focuses on seafood, while Goomah offers Italian fare, which makes for a fun and flexible dining experience.

We started with East Coast oysters, which were super fresh and clean. For mains, we ordered the lobster roll and the snapper—both from the Live Bait menu. The snapper was likely cooked just as intended (in a 500° oven), but the texture wasn’t quite what we personally prefer. The chef came out to check in, was extremely friendly, and offered to swap it for the grouper with caper sauce (also from Live Bait), which was incredible—we’d absolutely order that again. The lobster roll was also excellent.

Our server Lexi was fantastic—she was bartending and covering our section solo, and still gave amazing service. Drinks were great, and everything felt relaxed but professional.

Highly recommend this spot for fresh seafood, attentive service, and a unique dual-menu concept. We’ll definitely be back!

Delicious fish dishes! I tried the bread service, the whitefish spread, shrimp cocktail, and lobster roll. I also tasted my husband’s Lobster Bisque which was also delicious! We WILL be back for dinner stating with the Happy Hour Menu from 4-6 pm Monday through Friday and Saturday & Sunday 4-5 pm!

Hidden little gem! Wonderful drinks, food & great service from Madeline tonight. Bang Bang Shrimp & Clam Pizza were the standouts. Limoncello Collin’s was a perfect hot weather cocktail & they have Peroni on draft! We will be back!

Emily waited on us. Bad service. First of all I ordered a Heineken beer, she brought me a non alcoholic beer and told me that’s all the Heineken beer they have.
Then I wanted lobster roll, she told me they were out of stock, later I inquired about when they going to have it back on stock to a different waitresses, she was confused. She was like we have them, few minutes later, I watched a different waitress serve a lobster roll to a another table.
Then my food was late, my friend finished his food and asked for a box and he put everything in a box, I was still waiting for my food. I would never go to this place

Amazing service from the moment I walked in. The host was so friendly and genuine, she made me feel very welcome and was personable. Onto our service, we had Lexi as our server. She is so sweet and kind which really made our experience great. She did a fantastic job and is fun to chat with. We loved her and will definitely ask for her next time! The food was delicious and came out at reasonable times for being a busy Friday night! It’s not too loud, more on the quiet side. Good ambience. I would highly recommend giving this place a try if you haven’t already and definitely ask for Lexi as your server!! 11/10, couldn’t ask for a better experience.

Live Bait hosted my sister's bridal party and exceeded all our expectations. The room was beautifully set up, the food was delicious, and the service was incredibly attentive, making it a truly special occasion. We mentioned that we would be bringing in hydrangeas as centerpieces, and they even went the extra mile to provide some as well! It was such a thoughtful gesture. I highly recommend Live Bait for your next event.

We waited over a year to try this place their normal scheduled cook wasn’t in we just paid $80 for a bunch of overcooked overpriced seafood with an over hour wait time and are leaving hungry maybe try opening just one restaurant I’m sick of all these places over reaching and leaving hungry chicken nuggets it is I guess

Terribly overcooked terribly overpriced food with tiny portions and we were so excited to try this place had to get food on the way home from somewhere else manager refused to work with us on the bill don’t eat here!!!

The food is okay, but there are mosquitos in the restaurant. I got at least 5 to 6 bites while I was there. With the recent wet weather, I know mosquitos are part of nature. I asked our waitress for insect repellent, but they didn’t have any. Then she asked, “Do you see them?” I don’t think anyone can see them easily in the evening with such dim lighting inside, and honestly, my body tells me what happened. She also kindly offered to move us to a different table, which was “nice” and useless. If mosquitos could understand, they will feel disrespected!

My point is that there are mosquitos in this restaurant during the current wet season. If you or your family members are prone to mosquito bites, you should avoid this place for now.
