Didn't stay at the motel but the restaurant was good food for a good price. Cinnamon roll was EXCELLENT ♥

We took an unplanned trip to the UP to see the fall colors. We drove past the hotel where the hey had a room open. The room isn't fancy, but it was clean! The furniture wasn't beat up, and the carpets looked new. The woman running the hotel and restaurant was so friendly, it was like being around my grandma.

If you find yourself in the area looking for a room, consider staying here. They are dog friendly!

had a great breakfast this morning. waitress was friendly and helpful. portions large and food well cooked. would recommend to anyone staying in trout lake. will go back for dinner tonight.

I've had breakfast here multiple times and this restaurant is seriously a hidden gem in an area with few options. The food is fresh, tasty and comes out quickly. Omelets, B&G, pancakes--they have all of the traditional breakfast foods at a reasonable price. The dining room is extremely clean, no cobwebs or dust like you see at some of the more rural UP diners. Always looks like things have been freshly vacuumed and wiped down. Finally, the waitress who is always working hustles! I own a restaurant in the LP and it's near impossible to find staff who will work as hard and fast as this lady is every time I go in there! This place is for sure a solid stop for breakfast in Trout Lake.

Ive never paid so much for so little food! My wife and i had whitefish sandwiches and fries for each of us with a total of 3 sodas. Our sandwiches had a piece of fish about the size of your first three fingers on a regular burger bun while the fries were soggy. The tab was well over $30!
Im glad others had good experiences here- we did not! To top it off the wife made me leave a tip. No wonder chain restaurants have put mom n pop places out of business.
Do yourself a favor and go to the pub a few doors down, they were packed! We stopped here(mcgowans) to get a quick bite and get on the road, the empty parking shouldve been the red flag! Lousy!
