Boon Kai Restaurant (Take out Only)

We’ve been going to Boon Kai for years, but we no longer live in the area. Since I was a child, up until today I would’ve told anyone that Boon Kai was the best Chinese around . We visited family today and ordered carry out from Boon Kai. It was nothing like it used to be. The food wasn’t great, we didn’t get any dinner rolls with our order and the environment was terrible! I understand the restaurant is only carry out now, but the restaurant was an absolute mess. Boxes everywhere. It also seems as if the new owners could really use some training in customer service. The large sign hanging behind the register saying ‘Please be patient, cooking is in progress, if you don’t like the wait, McDonald’s is down the street’, was an unbelievable, rude, unprofessional turn off! Also the large Trump picture is not a smart business move. Politics should most likely be left out of any small business. I did read some of the Google reviews and the responses from the owner confirm his character. After a lifetime of raving and recommending Boon Kai, never again. I won’t be back.

I used to go here as a 8-10 y/o, I'm 42 now. My dad worked at the Marathon on the corner. I was friends with the owners son (I believe it has changed hands since I was a kid). The food was really good I have nothing but fond memories of this place.

First time customer, stopped in based on the great reviews, but I have to say we were not impressed at all. Have had way better tasting & quality Chinese food from other local spots. Not to mention the place was dirty and the floors looked like they weren’t cleaned in weeks. Do not recommend.

I cannot comment on the service or atmosphere. I work at the hospital and ordered via Grub Hub. The food tasted fine, although the dumplings were not the kind I was expecting. However, I was not expecting to find a piece of metal that looked like it came from an iron wool type scrubber in my combo dinner. My stomach has been feeling off since I ate lunch and I'm hoping it's just heart burn. I've been trying to call for the the last 25 minutes before close with no success to get through. I see you're not open on Mondays to address my issue tomorrow. I did not have time to call during my busy nursing shift, but I would like to give them a chance to make it right. First time customer.

We have been ordering from Boon Kai for years. The food is always hot and fresh. The new owner is always upbeat and friendly. The value is fantastic. And you can't go wrong getting a carryout from here. Appreciate it!

We’ve been going to boon Kai for years .. always was our favorite .. hadn’t in awhile since we had moved but saw they were on door dash so I was thrilled .. super disappointed that the rolls seemed to have changed now and weren’t the best .. the sweet and sour sauce wasn’t the same either and was disappointing… chicken was very crunchy now .. whatever you changed .. I wouldn’t have. So the meal was just ok

Nothing beats the start of a weekend than Orange Chicken and an amazing dinner roll from Boon Kai. Been eating here for 20+ years!
