This is arguably, and I’m going to be kind but still honest, easily the worst restaurant I’ve ever been to in my entire life. It’s just not Mexican food. It comes from a can and has no flavor.
I understand they’ve been in business for 45 years so obviously people in this area like it. Otherwise they wouldn’t be still in business. But to say this is Mexican food, it’s just not.
If you like very bland food that unauthentic and has almost no spice, that’s fine. It’s just not real Mexican food. And that’s okay, there’s nothing wrong with that. I’m used to going to places like Los Galanes in Mexican town in Detroit so I’ve been eating authentic Mexican food my entire life.
The hot salsa at El Nible nook is indistinguishable from the mild.

We got the queso, fajitas and churros. Overall the food is very Americanized and lacked flavor and a good authentic Mexican spice.
The salsa that was served was extremely sweet and looked to be dyed with its very red color. Big chunks of tomatoes ( we love chunky salsa ) but needs some flavor!
The queso lacked spice as well. It was very creamy but tasted like a nacho cheese. We poured hot sauce and it still tasted the same.
Our fajitas were very lightly spiced as well. Very shrimpy flavor. The rice was sweet and had tomatoes in it- almost tasted like pasta. The veggies were great! Each of our fajita dishes at a total of 8 shrimp.
The churros were great! Very crisp. The only reason I bumped the food From 1-> 2 stars.
Our waitress was amazing! Very very sweet - I believe her name was Claudette. Thank you Claudette!

Had the most miserable dinner of my life there on Cinco de Mayo. Cold, tasteless, bland food. Awful margaritas. Never going back.

Great margaritas, best salsa and chips, and our favorite meal = the Tijuana Bipass, a combination plate. Chicken chalupa, shredded beef burrito, and the best part is a fried flour tortilla cup with shredded bbq meat, cheese, and avocado! You won’t find it anywhere else. Take some of it home so you have room for their fried ice cream or honey and cinnamon coated sopapillas! Warm comfort food.

Been a fan of El Nibble Nook for nearly 50 years! Don’t get there much nowadays because of the 40+ miles distance. Owners must be having hard times or under new ownership. Food is still fresh and excellent tasting, but portions were smaller. Disappointed, especially for Mexican cuisine. I’m not saying your meal should be gigantic to be good or worth it, but when my husband had a Mariachi’s Caliente Grande and a California Style Burrito and was still hungry when we got home, it’s obvious that portions were downsized considerably! Mariachi’s used to be double decker and topped with grated Parmesan. Shredded beef in the burrito had too much cinnamon or similar, it had a sweet flavor this time. Will go back, if already in the neighborhood.

We sat at the high tops next to the bar. Fantastic service from the bartender. Our food come out quickly and hot. Delicious meals. Great margaritas too. We will be back.
