Found out about this restaurant through Groupon, had dinner there today. Ate the best borsht I've ever had, devoured the lamb chops and pounded them potatoes (although I'd go with the chicken next time - portion size was a little larger), and the dessert... That napoleon thing is excellent. I loved the food. I don't know how the guy below me could complain about the serving size of the groupon deal - you get a borscht, a salad, perogies, an entree, and a desert...
It felt like we caught them off guard even though we had a reservation at 7pm on a Friday. There was one waiter who was very nice and tried very hard. The owner or manager, who was wearing sweat pants and a T-shirt, got up and helped. I think he might have cooked the food too. We were there a couple yrs ago and it was much different. We'll give them another try.
We went here for my Ukrainian-born father's birthday. The salmon my dad and I ordered was absolutely perfect. Only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because of limited hours. At this time their dining room is only open Friday after 5pm. However, we were the only guests here at the time, which made me sad because I'd hate to hear this place had to close down. They definitely know how to prepare food.
