Portions were generous. Food was bland. Worst hot and sour soup ever had. Would not return.

AWFUL FOOD! MSG WARNING...
RUDE Owner!!!
Asked to eat in...when ordering I asked if they used MSG... She said, YES, everything had it including soup! OWNER, (server), said, she would have the cook leave it out of ONLY that one item, the item I was ordering. They put it in anyway! ??When I said the old owners had said they didn't use MSG...SHE SAID, THEY LIED AND LAUGHED! The meal was AWFUL! Shrimp were rubber!
Also, I had called in a takeout before knowing about the MSG in everything...I told the owner, (which was the server), I couldn't eat it WITH THE MSG and would like it taken off the bill or made it without. She said, No.... Then charged me $5 to leave it....Definitely not the way to treat a customer!....
Terrible experience there today..!
FYI...I noticed another diner that heard the discussion, left his whole meal on the table and walked out...
other diners weren't happy with the service either!!!
GOLDEN PHOENIX in the past had been our favorite Chinese restaurant.... Never again!!!!

I ordered the egg foo young patties. My food came in the old fashioned white cartons that are stapled closed and placed in a plastic bag. I did not receive any cutlery. I am used to the food coming in the black plastic containers which I prefer. I was hungry and planned to eat in the car and couldn’t. I was very disappointed. Please don’t use those outdated containers and give people plastic ware
When ordering the website gives you the option not to get cutlery which I click if I’m eating at home.My food was good.

This place was the best Chinese food in the area about 15 years ago. Now it’s THE WORST. The food is AWFUL. I wouldn’t feed it to my dog. The owner is RUDE. STAY AWAY!!! Go to Shangri La.

We ordered the Szechuan Beef and instead got the Szechuan Dog. I'm not even kidding or joking, we literally got MYSTERY MEAT.

Read the other reviews below me, those people aren't lying. This was the WORST Chinese food experience we've. Also $34 for two items is way overpriced even for this area.

I ordered chicken wings and I don’t know think what I started eating was chicken! The pieces look weird and not cooked well at all! After 2 bites and looking at it closely I threw out!! My 3rd time giving this restaurant a chance; I’m done!

This place has to be the worst American Chinese food I’ve ever had. Simply awful disgusting. Maybe it was good 15+ years ago but not anymore. It’s also closed for dine in like they think they’re going to get Covid. When in reality they just don’t want to pay anyone to re-open and the owner just rat holes all his money. place smells. Just a bad experience. Shouldn’t even be legal to serve food like this.

how does this joint stay in business? how? it's bad!who are these chinese people? who? still in their chinese mental cave. clearly, they have not been americanized! if they were, their customer service would be 100% better. it is horrible. the food, it is below average; it is hit or miss. the price for food is ok considering some ok quality items. do i recommend? again 1 or 2 items are ok; many are not good. the customer service is bad as is her english. terrible chinese english; 90% i cant understand her. if the food quality would improve, you may consider to tolerate the bad english and horrific customer service; ugh! i mean horrific customer service; and bad chinese english; extremely hard to understand

It was like they had.never seen customers before. Unwelcoming amd clearly annoyed with 90 year old man's questions - he's the one who chose the restaurant based on remembering it was good, and he was also the one who decided we would leave.

They skimp on there portions!And their chicken almond used to be decent but now they overbred it and put a pounded tiny amount of chicken in it. I would not recommend this place.

We drove over there 50 miles twice and learned they were closed inside. We gave them 5 stars for years. Nothing on their web site about take out only. I don't like giving bad reviews but enough is enough. We won't be back.

this restaurant has competitive prices! ?this restaurant makes very good wonton soup, ?this restaurant sells ole ... old pork; the worst sweet and sour pork i've ever tasted; it is hard as rock and tastes old and not fresh? i ordered two (2) x; i informed them that the quality is poor before i placed the 2nd order; still ZERO improvement.it is disappointing that they do not take customer's input seriously! ?
