Lots of food. Medium desirably.

The almond chicken was soggy, right out of the container. Gravey was not golden but brown, almost like the wrong gravey. I hate posting poor reviews, but I was not impressed and disappointed.

The almond chicken is excellent - probably the best I've ever had! The chicken is tender and the sauce has a lot of flavor.

Staff wonderful. Clean establishments and food were delicious. Yes, it's a great little restaurant in the West Bloomfield area to eat.

Beautiful food, beautiful ambiance. Great people. This is all around a great place. The egg rolls are to die for 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

All 6 of us had a horrible experience, food was awful, my shrimp fried rice was fried and cold shrimp mixed in not fried with the dry tasteless rice!! Server could not understand us. Shame on this restaurant. Never go back again. All 6 of us were very disappointed and we were there to celebrate 2 birthdays. We actually saw people get up and walk out because they were not getting service! 1 waitress is never enough. The food was expensive for what we got. I barely ate my meal.

I think the food here is very good. The almond chicken is delicious. It’s crispy, the chicken isn’t weird, and the sauce is very flavorful. This is a really good old school Chinese food place and the almond chicken is the best in the area.

We ordered carry out on Christmas Eve. The order was placed online a few days in advance. I recognize that it was probably their busiest day of the year. The order was late and it was a bit chaotic in the restaurant at pickup. That was all to be expected. Every Chinese restaurant in the area experiences the same thing on Christmas Eve.

All of our food was done well. Everyone was happy with the orders. It was one of the best Christmas Eve Chinese Food eating experiences that we had post-Covid. We will definitely be back.

The sizzling rice soup was great. The spicy mustard was especially spicy (in a good way). The vegetables in the dishes were fresh and not over cooked.

I was given the wrong order and when I called she said she called me but I didn’t answer. She told me to bring it back. I told her I lived 20 min away. What was I going to do? She told me “that’s your problem “. I informed her I would never use them again. It’s a shame bec my family and I have used GP for many holiday events. All she had to do was offer me a refund at later date. I am over 80 and cannot drive after dark. I could have returned during day time hours. Shame to loose a good customer. Make matters worse I paid in cash and left a tip.

This afternoon, I returned the wrong order to GP. I was given the choice to have correct order or refund. I opted for refund. I appreciate getting a refund without a problem.

Portions were generous. Food was bland. Worst hot and sour soup ever had. Would not return.

AWFUL FOOD! MSG WARNING...
RUDE Owner!!!
Asked to eat in...when ordering I asked if they used MSG... She said, YES, everything had it including soup! OWNER, (server), said, she would have the cook leave it out of ONLY that one item, the item I was ordering. They put it in anyway! ??When I said the old owners had said they didn't use MSG...SHE SAID, THEY LIED AND LAUGHED! The meal was AWFUL! Shrimp were rubber!
Also, I had called in a takeout before knowing about the MSG in everything...I told the owner, (which was the server), I couldn't eat it WITH THE MSG and would like it taken off the bill or made it without. She said, No.... Then charged me $5 to leave it....Definitely not the way to treat a customer!....
Terrible experience there today..!
FYI...I noticed another diner that heard the discussion, left his whole meal on the table and walked out...
other diners weren't happy with the service either!!!
GOLDEN PHOENIX in the past had been our favorite Chinese restaurant.... Never again!!!!

I ordered the egg foo young patties. My food came in the old fashioned white cartons that are stapled closed and placed in a plastic bag. I did not receive any cutlery. I am used to the food coming in the black plastic containers which I prefer. I was hungry and planned to eat in the car and couldn’t. I was very disappointed. Please don’t use those outdated containers and give people plastic ware
When ordering the website gives you the option not to get cutlery which I click if I’m eating at home.My food was good.

This place was the best Chinese food in the area about 15 years ago. Now it’s THE WORST. The food is AWFUL. I wouldn’t feed it to my dog. The owner is RUDE. STAY AWAY!!! Go to Shangri La.

We ordered the Szechuan Beef and instead got the Szechuan Dog. I'm not even kidding or joking, we literally got MYSTERY MEAT.

Read the other reviews below me, those people aren't lying. This was the WORST Chinese food experience we've. Also $34 for two items is way overpriced even for this area.
