The famous steakhouse J.Axlxander's is located in the suburbs of Detroit.
Store located at 14 Mile x Orchard mall.
If you don't like red meat, I think the ``Slow Roasted Prime Rib'' is extremely delicious as it is tender, has a concentrated lean flavor, and has just the right amount of fat. Personally, I like it when I choose a baked potato as an accompaniment because it neutralizes the meatiness.

As always, J. Alexander's had excellent maitre'ds at the door who were immediately responsive and seated us (we did have a reservation). Our waitress, Miracle, was absolutely amazing, on-point, accommodating, and attentive! She checked back at appropriate intervals and intuitively brought what was needed without our table having to ask. She was cheerful and polite as well as professional, a very nice combination! We, of course, will be back, AGAIN (we've been several times ?)

I will say it's always top-notch service when I go here. The staff is always amazingly friendly. The food is delicious and the prices are great. I love the vibrant atmosphere as well. The Alex salad, baked potato, 248, any of the dips (crab or spinach), calamari l, the pasta soup are all great selections!

Always fantastic food and service. Everything on the menu is excellent, but the Smoked Salmon Dip is the star of the show!

Apparently "a pleasant dining experience, is NOT on the menu at J. Alexanders." I visited the location in West Bloomfield Michigan (an affluent area) with my 89-year-old grandmother for my birthday. Two booths down, there was a family with a crying 12-18-month-old. As a parent, I completely understand childhood, but allowing a baby to continue to cry while other people are trying to enjoy their dinner is deplorable. I gave it some time to allow the family to calm their child down, but they just ignored her crying. It was a start-and-stop the whole time. When I brought it up with one of the servers walking by, her response was, "wha'chya want me do about it." If the server felt that comfortable talking to a guest like that, clearly the manager allows this type of behavior and won't do anything either. Maybe if the restaurant had a dress code policy that didn't serve people wearing sweatshorts, sandals, and baseball caps, this could have been avoided.

As for my actual dinner, I'm STILL waiting for my calamari appetizer. The main dishes were delivered and the server came by twice to check up on us and did not even realize that we never got our calamari. In the end when the check arrived (it wasn't on the bill), I pointed it out to her, and the server was shocked. If she was so certain that she put the order in, she should have seen that we never got the order. Clearly, J. Alexanders doesn't care about a pleasant dining experience.

I assumed J. Alexanders tried to brand themselves as an upscale restaurant, being in West Bloomfield of all places, but that failed miserably! The only difference between J. Alexanders and all the other "nice" restaurants in the ghetto is that the ones in Detroit charge a cover and have automatic gratuity because they know they won't provide good service and no one tips either. This was the ultimate Boughetto experience!

Love this place. It’s my preferred location. The food is consistently good and the service is great.

My mom (senior citizen) loves their crab cakes here (she’s from Maryland and picky about crab cakes!)—- the staff is always friendly and accommodating to ensure accessibility (wheelchair/walker).

This place is racist don't be foolish to believe they are diverse, they will treat you like the 50' 60's the lunch counter. They rather serve White's before Black's.

Have never had a bad meal in the 20 years we have ate at Js, came in tonight and as always top notch, but our server Sydney really went above and beyond on this night. She was so nice to my two boys, myself and my wife. Not only the food, but it's because of servers like Sydney we will go out of our way to come to this location! Thank you again Sydney!

I swear the bar service is horrible. I had to ask if I could place an order, had to ask for refill on drink, had to ask for bill. Now when a man come to the bar, it’s like they hop to it. As a former waitress, I tip, including carry out. But today, nope. I’m not just going to give away my money.

Let’s start with the good. Menu is good and our server was very nice. The rest was just awful. My wife ordered a salad with extra tomatoes. The salad shows up with 1/2 a spoonful of tomatoes. She also ordered broccoli as a side. It shows up cold. I ordered a French Dip sandwich. The prime rib was so undercooked it was disgusting. I asked for well done crispy fries. I received lukewarm undercooked fries. I ordered coleslaw. After mentioning that it didn’t come out with my meal, it comes 15 minutes later. We asked to speak with the manager. She gives us a $25 voucher for the next time (which is useless since we’re traveling and don’t have a location in our state). She also gives us a free piece of chocolate cake with ice cream. My wife asked to leave the ice cream off. The cake shows up with ice cream. The chocolate cake was some strange concoction that tasted like mush. This was certainly the worst restaurant that I’ve been to in 10 years. No exaggeration… just awful

I always choose this place when I meet my friends for a dinner or lunch especially when I have a lot to catch up with them over a good meal. The atmosphere and seating in this restaurant are very relaxing. My favorite meal there is any salad especially Ahi tuna salad or Thai salad. And what I always get is ther famous carrots cake. It’s so delicious! I was there yesterday for lunch and the waitress Marina was awesome! I and my girls had so much to catch up with and ended up staying there almost 3 hours! She was so sweet and had beautiful smile, often checked on us if we needed anything or to refill drinks. She never gave us any attitude or impressions that made us feel like we needed to hurry up finishing our meals and get out! I recommend this place for family or friends gatherings or business meal meetings.
