HORRIBLE service, NO COMPS after being served piss warm beer and FOOD WITH DEAD ANT …. Went with my dad, neither of us has been in a few years and we were looking forward to getting burgers before a show. he ordered a beer, she let us know they had to tap a new keg so it would just be a minute (no big deal) after waiting 10 min we received a piss warm beer. like, it was SO warm, we put ice from our water into the beer and ice melted almost instantly. i flagged down the waitress she asked if she could get us a new beer, my dad didnt want to be “one of those guys” and he insisted he was ok but i asked if she could at least bring another cup of ice. she went back and brought us a cup of ice IN A HOT GLASS CUP - like one straight out of the dishwasher. ridiculous. but whatever, something we could look past…. then our food comes out. 2 burgers onion rings and fries. as we are into our first and second bites of food i realize theres a large, black DEAD carpenter ant on my pickle. literally notice this as our waitress came to ask if we needed anything else i show her the ant and she is just as surprised as me, and says “omg, what would you like me to do? CAN I GET YOU A NEW PICKLE?”…. stunned i say “um …. ok…. ya, thank you.” i look at my dad and he says “how is she not gonna offer you a whole entire brand new plate for free?” “i said maybe she will lets see”. she comes back quickly with the pickle and i say “actually can i just get a whole new plate?” and she said yes absolutely, takes plate away and brings back a new burger 8 minutes later… which honestly i also feel like that should have been quicker too but again something i suppose i could look past…. at this point we are starting to be on the verge of running late for our show. and, we did not ask for a discount/comp/free meal. but we had assumed this would be the case after the dead ant but we wanted to wait and see if this was something that she did herself. afterall, she told us she was going to show the manager so he would take care of it (also note manager never came to talk to us). Anyways, bill comes and we are charged full price. 69$ for our 1 hot beer and drawn out service over a dead bug. paid our bill and still gave a 10$ tip. my dad ended up talking to the hostess who waived over the manager. he was visibly embarrassed and apologetic. he offered to give us a store credit and personally take care of us for our next visit which we politely declined bc we will not be coming back over that experience. all i can think about is how many customer have been eating dead bugs in there… also the ordeal made us 15 late to our show. so annoying
Redcoat Tavern feels like a tavern and a comfortable place to eat or just have a drink, I found it a little noisy and the food just average.
Moderate noise, nice esthetic, decent burger, great fries🥰
Their burgers never fail drive almost an hour way to bring lunch for the staff
Horrible dine in experience with the racist misogynistic waiter. I sent my daughter and my mother to eat there after an outing they had. The male waiter with a beard asked where they heard of the tavern and my daughter said her father recommended and that my mother was visiting. He proceeded to ask my mother if she spoke English. And then said that there was no problem if she did not because there were employees in the kitchen that did not speak English. Which is ridiculous because of course she does and it’s none of his business. After this my daughter proceeded to order a burger with no cheese. This man thinks he knows better and pressured her until she ordered with cheese and had to scrape it off. Needless to say we are never going back. I am not a huge fan of bar food but we would go there because the service is usually good and the food is regular bar food. But I would really like to know his name and go and sit at his table and show him what he needs to learn.

Wonderful experience dining here! First time customer for Redcoat Tavern in West Bloomfield. Food was excellent. Service was excellent by waitress Taylor. She was “service with a smile” and very efficient. Bonus was a visit to our table by the manager who wanted to make sure everything was good - food & service. He was great!!!! Will definitely come back to this location. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience!!!

The restaurant has a great appearance. Nice and clean outside and inside. Our service was great especially with a table of 8. The food was not the best. We had the prime rib, fish and chips, hamburgers, Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese/ burgers were fantastic. Waiter was amazing.

Special place to try. Historic place in the area. Super attentive staff. Burger with Piedmontese meat (I'm from Turin!??♀️??), the coleslow is good. Spent a cent for 3. Worth a try if you're in the area. #Riccitour ?

Meeting a friend for dinner!
First time stopping by this location and it was underwhelming to say the least. First of all there is no guest wifi available. This is the 21st century right? Bartender was just blah. Not rude by any means but certainly not welcoming. Ordered fish and chips and the fish was stone cold. The brought me a second and it was a little better but certainly not perfect which I'd expect it to be at $21. Manager made it right by taking it off the bill but overall a very disappointing experience especially considering the many good experiences I've had at the Woodward location. Improve your standards with service and food!!
