Some of the best spicy fried chicken around! The restaurant was out of beans and souvenir cups due to expenses, but made up for it with their impeccable service.

Placed an order at 7:20 and drove 20 minutes. Got there before 7:39. Knocked on the door- Doors were locked. The lady was cleaning and ignored us and someone else waiting for their door dash order. Received a text that my order was cancelled. Why waste someone's time? Either prepare the order or don't take it to begin with. Also your hours say you close at 8.

Absolutely amazing service!!! I placed an order over the phone, and when I went in to pick it up, they had accidentally gave it to another customer named Rick. They quickly apologized and made it up to me while I waited. Very pleasant and informative of other offerings. I had been to the one in Royal Oak pre-pandemic, and have been looking forward to coming back ever since. Yesterday was that day. I ordered tenders and fried green tomatoes. Excellent! I was so excited to try my food that I forgot to snap photos. Previously I had a breast. Everything is seasoned perfectly and cooked to perfection. The chicken is juicy. I want to try the Okra next time, but I don’t know, those tomatoes are the bomb. I highly recommend you try Gus’s. Thank you again!

Walked in at 7:40 apologized for coming in close to closing time but that’s besides the point, as soon as I walked in everything was starting to close down way before they are supposed to close! Where I’m from my managers always taught us to never close until closing time. Sad excuse today fryers are down and a customer is waiting for their food. In AZ they do things DIFFERENT!

Cute little restaurant with delicious fried chicken with a little spicy kick. Plates come with side of baked beans, but that's not my preference so I got some potato salad. It's made with mustard which was good but just a little heavy for me as I'm not a mustard fan. The slaw was very tasty. The chicken pieces and tender were delicious. Jason is an amazing chef. He's such a sweet guy too. MacKenzie was my waitress and she was extremely helpful. She and the manager helped me with my first time order. They have seating indoors as well as takeout and a kids menu. They told me there's live music on Friday nights. Definitely will return with hubby for music, dinner and he can have a beer too!

Second time going to Gus’s. The first time it was good but nothing to write home about. But we stopped in while out running errands. The food was amazing. Fried chicken was perfect. The beans, coleslaw and Mac n cheese all were great too but the fried pickles were the best fried pickles I’ve ever had! The staff was very personable and we talked to chef Gordon and found out that there was a staffing overhaul recently so they are making the award recipe the way it was intended. Would have posted pictures but we ate it too fast.

It's OK. It's not sauced. It's coated in what seems like paprika. There's a spice, but it's not really seasoned. Then the dipping sauce is sweet, which I didn't enjoy. All and all, it's worth trying as tastes buds are different, and there's a novelty to bright red chicken, but...
Much better since new management. Mike is an awesome cook and Virginia is probably the nicest lady I've ever met.

Don't come here and think you will have a quick meal. I've never gotten my food faster than 25min. Today was no exception, 40min from order to table with no one else in the restaurant. My chicken was room temp, sides were luke warm, and they were out of most chicken. Floor was insanely sticky everywhere too. Our server, she was nice though not very on top of it. Probably my last time there.

Just returned from first visit. Won't go back. Overcooked, dry, pricey chicken.
