I wish we hadn’t picked this place and read the reviews, but it was a blind choice. I was the only one there and it still took over 45 minutes when they said 20. I was so excited for the egusi because it was my first time, but it was awful and sour. It truly tasted spoiled. The smell gave it away, but the tiny bit I tasted was horrible. Everything was microwaved, no fresh food. $15 for 4 pieces of dry, flavorless lamb. No refund which was also horrible. Don’t come here.

Edit: As I’ve read other reviews, I truly believe this place needs to be under investigation. It seems that they serve spoiled food often. This is not safe and endangers the public.

Very terrible meal .
A waste of $68
I haven’t seen an egusi go so terribly wrong. Looks and taste like milk .

Vegetable was soggy .
Bitterleaf soup sooo bad .

I can’t imagine running a restaurant without a basic good food .

I fell in love with Egusi and fufu but my usual place was a bit out of the way. Ordered online and all went well. The person behind the counter asked for my phone so he could take a picture of my order confirmation (??? Didn’t like that at all).
I got my food home and was excited to see the portion size. My original place is a bit smaller for the same price . But upon opening the container I was hit by the smell. I can only describe it as dry dog food (wet kibble). My kids all said yuck and mom that stinks. I don’t believe that I have had goat before and wondered if maybe this was the reason. I ate some anyway. The meat was good and all but the smell was so off putting. I couldn’t finish even the little I had served up.
My stomach started to hurt and making gurgling noise.
The color was not nice and it was very very thin in comparison to what I had come to know as Egusi.
I am sad to say that it went in the trash for fear of it being bad. I most definitely will not be going back to try anything else.

My husband is a native of Nigeria from the Yoruba tribe and I'm a huge fan of Nigerian cuisine. I am not sure where these bad reviews come from but when I first visited this place and placed my order for Egusi soup which is a favorite of mine, I was inpressed. It was very delicious and I had enough to last me for 2 days. The egusi soup was prepared just right and the meat was tender and well seasoned. I've been twice already to this restaurant and will be back again soon. I am glad I found this mini restaurant and they will forever have me as a customer as long as they're in business.

NO! This is not African this is African for people that don't know better. This is not Nigerian food. This is Nigerian food for people Nigerians don't like. This restaurant is the restaurant that was started by that aunty that no one eats. Really horrible fun.

I ordered online and picked up my order. I ordered chicken, Yams, greens and cornbread. The chicken didn't have enough seasoning and one of my drumsticks wasn't fully cooked. Red and bloody. Greens had no flavor. The Yams were good, also the cornbread was descent. The tables in the lobby were sticky and needed to be wiped off. Please address these issues.

I honestly had a great experience at this restaurant. I ordered over the phone and she was very upfront about how long everything would take and made sure that I was okay with it. Everything was ready when I arrived, and I spoke to the owner for a long time. She works by herself and is a nice little grandma so its wonderful that she is following her passion. The food itself was a bit pricey but I am happy to pay it to support a small local business. Everything tasted very good, and the portion sizes were large. The egusi was great but the cassava leaf soup was even better, with large portions of goat in each. I personally had a great experience and would recommend to others.
