My sister-in-law and her boyfriend had been raving about this place for a year, so we finally joined them for dinner. Their top picks were the Reuben sandwich and the French dip, both hyped as huge portions with bold flavors.
The atmosphere was a strong point. The decor felt like a whimsical tavern with plenty of unique pieces on the walls and ceilings that made it fun to look around. The bathrooms were impressively clean and fresh. There was ample seating for waiting, and while the parking lot layout was a little odd, there was no real shortage of space.
Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to the hype. My Reuben came on overtoasted bread that was dry and hard, with very little meat or kraut, and just a faint hint of sauce by the last bite. Others at the table had their own complaints as well. Service was another weak spot since our waiter often seemed to forget about us, leaving drinks unfilled and check-ins sparse.
Adding to the disappointment, my sister-in-law mentioned the fries had changed since her last visit, which was one of the things she used to love about the place.
Overall, it was a letdown this time around. Still, I’d be willing to give it another try and hope for a better experience.

Here's the recipe for coleslaw: One bag of coleslaw, Half a cup of mayonnaise,1 tablespoon of white vinegar, half a tablespoon of cider vinegar, one or 2 teaspoons of sugar, 2 teaspoons of celery seed and salt and pepper to taste. Please do not serve coleslaw with nothing but mayo. Your food is excellent. Why blow it with bad coleslaw? Note this is the size of coleslaw that the average person buys in the grocery store.

You are not extremely happy with our waitress. She seemed kind of arrogant and yet we left her a good tip and ordered fish and chips, and one piece out of seven between the four of us seemed undercooked or bad. And when we gave it to the waitress she thought we were being sarcastic because my husband asked for seconds on fish

We got a gift card for Billy's, we'd never eaten there before, oh are we glad we got that card! The BBQ smoked dinner was tender, juicy and incredibly flavorful. Waitstaff was attentive and super friendly. We didn't use the entire gift card, so I'll post pics for our next trip!

Maybe went on a bad day, place is very dark, extremely noisy, with a band and boom box blaring. Left without finishing food due to noise. Wife liked the fish, I had a northern pastie, cost $18 dollars for a large piece of dough with very little meat inside with absolutely no flavor. Was in St. Ignace last week, pasties there cost $12 dollars and are packed with chopped sirloin, potatoes, onions, rutabaga, and flavor. Wife said she had barbeque there before, but will not go back due the noise level each time had been there. Waitress was very nice, but even she had to shout to be heard over the noise.

One of the few good spots in white lake for food, the BBQ is delicious. Highly recommend this place!

The food is amazing. ai am always game for hot and delicious breadsticks. Their BBQ is simply delicious also. We most recently came 30 minutes before close ( not realizing they may close at 7 PM on Sunday). They eagerly sat us and waited on us. We did make sure to leave at seven to honor their time. However, people came in 6:55 and they were sat down to be waited on. I highly suggest a pulled pork sandwich with a salad in lie of the french fries. So delicious.

Me and a friend went in for a nice lunch after spotting it and thinking it would be good! The food was wonderful but the waitress ignored us practically the whole time and we had to wait 20 minutes after we were done eating just sitting there while she talked with another waitress and would continuously walk past us. (Mind you this whole restaurant is empty, it’s just us) We had to wait after our drinks to order when we had set the menus away, she never asked us how the food was or if we needed anything else, my friend and I were dressed a little differently the the typical BBQ wear but this service is unacceptable and I felt judged. I will not be coming back. Beautiful place but disappointed in the way we were treated.

Beautiful place, unfortunate that the service was so bad. Waitress barely spoke to us, no manners were displayed, she talked with another waitress at the table behind us while we had been done and waiting for our check for about 10 minutes. (Place was completely empty except us.) She walked back to the front and we waited another 10 minutes for our check. Pretty okay food, you could get better food along with better service elsewhere.
