I had never heard of this place before, but it turned out to be a wonderful discovery. We wanted to avoid the crowded spots in Lansing and East Lansing, and this was the perfect choice. The outdoor patio is cute, cozy, and romantic—quiet and relaxing.
The cuisine was authentic, homemade, and delicious. The service was excellent and came directly from the owner. We had a great night and are already looking forward to coming back.

I live in LA and visit twice a year. Summer and Christmas. Each time I get to the River house twice. It’s THAT good. Patio is gorgeous. On the river. Peaceful. Comfortable. Inside is romantic and cozy in winter. Food consistent. Yummy options. Elegant. Highly recommend. Susan in front is lovely and greets you with a smile every time.
Our server was excellent. The food was good But not any better than you can get at any other similar restaurant. Atmosphere good as well. The issue was the manager. She needs to work on her table side manner. She was quite harsh with us, as well as her staff, ( In front of us.) Beware, there’s no air conditioning inside the inn and limited shade outside. Will not go again.

We dined on the patio this past Saturday evening and had a fantastic experience. Susan, who served as both our server and bartender, was incredible—she prepared some of the best drinks we’ve ever had. Overall, it was a wonderful evening, and I highly recommend dining here.

In a world of strip malls, it refreshing to find a restaurant on a river with a garden!

Such a beautiful and quaint spot. Service is amazing and personable! Thank you, Riverhouse!
Found this place on a search. It was our 22nd Anniversary. We had the place to ourselves because we went so early. The staff was great! Want to try in the summer, they have outdoor dining looking over the river. Deff recommend. Food is very good!!
Outstanding food and atmosphere
It wasn't just a meal, it was an experience. My husband and I had our anniversary dinner here last week. We enjoyed both specialty cocktails with a frosty winter theme, shared stories with both the owner and the bartender and dined on the best food we had eaten in years. We felt like we had been invited into a friends home but somehow also managed to eat at the chefs table. It was warm, inviting, memorable and delicious. River House Inn is a delight to both the palette and the eyes. The onion soup is worth the trip (just what do they put in there to make it so good). Deconstructed chicken pot pie manages to be comfort food with a fine dining level of taste and presentation. It isn't just delicious, it actually makes you want to kick your shoes off and listen to stories and tell a few tails of your own. If you are ever in Williamston, stop to take a meal here. Actually, make it a point to go to the River House Inn and make it your destination. Well done River House. Thank you for all that you provided without realizing you did.
Very romantic setting to go for dinner for two, or with close friends. Relaxed staff who serve amazing food and will remember you when you visit them again.
