Chicken strips were good, onion rings not so much. Pancakes were amazing.

I stopped in for breakfast. The place was filled older people. Couples, groups of friends, singles.
You know a place has decent food and great staff when the older fellas ans gals rush the joint. Hahaha!

Went to hear with a few friends who convinced me to order from the senior menu with them. It would be good if you are a senior who isn't very hungry and doesn't care about presentation.

Other than that, it was fine. Coffee was pretty good and feeling frequently. It's easy to talk. Is there a decent amount of breakfast choices.

The food was great, the service was good. I did feel bad cuz the waiter was the only one there, but thankfully it wasn't too busy. I only gave this 4/5 stars because they were out of a lot of things. We went there specifically for slim jims but they were out of the slim jim bread. They were also out of the hot fudge so that eliminated quite a few desserts. I also asked for a strawberry shortcake shake since I'd never had one before, but they were out of shortcake. The strawberry shake was delicious tho, as was all of the food. I do wish they'd fix the tears in the seats I saw, but I'm sure they're working on it. This was the first time I've been to Big Boy since I was around 7-8yrs old, I'm 34 now so it's been awhile, but I was happy to see they still serve breakfast all day 😊 I know a lot of locations don't, so that made my day. My mother in law was just disappointed cuz she went there for a slim jim n was disappointed, but did enjoy the food she got

How does this hell hole have a 3.9 star rating?
Is it because everyone is drunk or hung over? Is it because the clientele are just used to slow service, missing menu items or the comfort of a totally busted and run down atmosphere?
These are all good questions that the people of Grandville should be asking.
The big question I have is… “how is this place open?”
What an embarrassment sitting on a ripped booth seat, at a table with a tacky edge.

We’ll start with the front door had laser paper signs with menu items that can’t be served.
My wife and I waited for nearly ten minutes to be greeted.
We were told that the staple breakfast buffet was closing more than two hours before advertised due to…. MORE MISSING ITEMS.
And then once again another visit from our server to let us know that components of my wife’s meal were out of stock too.
WHAT’S GOING ON HERE?!
How can you be out of so many things and yet have the restaurant be packed with people? -average age had to be 65
If you want to eat Gordon Food Service food, I’d recommend you just go to Gordon food service food, I recommend you go there yourself, bring it home and cook it yourself.
We thought it would be fun to go to big boy since we hadn’t been there in almost a decade, but damn looks like it’s going to be never again.
I hope this location turns into a Jake’s fireworks or Spirit Halloween soon that’s the only way I’m walking back through those doors again.

Didn’t have a good experience at Big Boy yesterday. We actually had to ask for a waitress to serve our booth. She took me I was fussy b/c I asked for the hostess to sit us closer to the breakfast bar. We waited a long time for our order. My wife’s toast was burnt with a hole in the middle where the cook placed the butter. The waitress should never have survive it to begin with. Her excuse was she didn’t make the toast. I had the breakfast bar. The sausage was warm and the bacon tray was empty. It took a long time for the tray to be filled.
I’m sorry to say I will not be returning.

I love me their Slim Jim sandwich! Can't get them in Florida. A chain that unfortunately is failing.

Always a great place to stop in. I absolutely am obsessed with the grilled chicken sandwiches and completely obsessed with the big boy seasoning. If you haven't tried the big boy seasoning, you have to buy some take it home, and put it on everything that you eat LOL!!

There are several dead cockroaches on the floor as of 8/1/25. Near the front door by the claw machines. The floor is so dirty elsewhere. I informed the person working, but also reached out to the health department. We won't be back, but they need a full inspection. .

My husband and I enjoyed a nice dinner at this restaurant. We were happy to still find a Big Boy in the Grand Rapids area since they tore down the one on Pearl Street. I had the spaghetti with marinara sauce and my husband had the Big Boy sandwich. We were both pleased with the presentation and the flavor of the food. Our waiter, Twaun, was excellent! He was very polite and attentive! We will definitely be returning to this restaurant soon!
