Fast, friendly and prompt service. Very family friendly atmosphere. Went in today for a chocolate milkshake and was pleasantly surprised by the decor and the set up was exactly the same as when I was in high school 20 years ago. The buffet, restaurant tables, the decor. It was a welcoming treat. It was almost $5 for one milkshake. Definitely a much higher price than in 1980. The shake was more milk than ice cream, thin not thick but hit the spot.

Today on March 25th 2024, me and my family went to big boy in grandville. Amazing server, but the only one working. Absolutely ridiculous. My server was running around getting everyone's orders and cleaning also doing bingo. I'm very disappointed in big boy. This is unacceptable. Especially for a restaurant that's been around so long. The server we had definitely deserves a raise. She is doing literally everything. She was doing 4 peoples jobs at once. Dakota was her name. At grandville michigan. We went for the breakfast buffet. It took fifteen minutes to get our drinks - but the server was delivering drinks to all of the customers who came in after us. The breakfast side of the buffet was nearly empty - but what was there tasted awful (other than the polish sausage and peppers). The gravy had ZERO flavor, the eggs all tasted gross. On the salad bar side of the buffet, the creamy macaroni salad had such a strong vinegar taste that I couldn't eat it. The blue cheese and ranch dressing, along with the thousand island was so coagulated on top that even when I tried to mix them in, it was still showing chunks of discolored coagulation the pasta salads were crunchy from being dried out. It honestly was such a horrible buffet experience that I will NEVER visit another big boy ever again.

So we went because I wanted to make my own salad. The salad bar was so picked over at 1230 you would have thought they were about to close for the day. The lettuce was brown and chick peas looked like they had mold on them. Many of the other toppings were empty.I obviously passed on salad bar and got a burger and fries. The fries were soggy. I gave 3stars because it looked like the burger was hand pattied.

Went for the breakfast buffet. Waited over a half hour for a table (told us 15 min), along with 4-5 other groups/families. Had to choose a few things from the buffet to eat with fingers because no one came to take our drink/food order or give us silverware for about 15 min after we sat down. The waiter was great but I don't think we were apart of his section seeing as he had to ask if we had been waited on yet. Gave him a nice tip! The buffet was ok but running very low, not well stocked. Definitely disappointed.

I had not been to Big Boy in quite a few years when a friend of mine and decided to have breakfast there. It was cool. The food was better than I remember and our waitress was friendly and attentive! I'd come back for sure.
Good ol' American food. Very affordable kids eat free after 4 on Tuesdays.

Came here for the 99 cent big boy burger. Waited about 10 minutes for our server to even come over. Took another 5 minutes to get out pops, my burger was over cooked. It saddens me that this place went down hill. So many moments of my childhood ruined.

Very very Dirty!! Food at the breakfast buffet was not good at all! The salad bar had some Mac salad. I took a bite and had to spit it out in my napkin. It was warm, sour and been sitting out all day. Poor service!! ?
